Great experience. would have loved live sopranos but it was great.
My first time seeing an event such as this and hopefully not my last. The orchestra and choir were EXCELLENT and the co-ordination perfect !!! Always loved the movie and to see it with live music was breath taking. Thank you so much for putting this show on !!
A fun evening! This is a great movie to start with, add in a live orchestra and choir and you have magic. I was skeptical whether this format could work and it hits the mark.
If you can make it out to one of the live performances of scores to movies please do. There is nothing like watching one of your favourite movies with a live orchestra playing on stage. It was simply amazing.
This was an extremely enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. I have never seen a production like this and it didn't disappoint. The combination of the orchestra and the choir in the background brought the film to a whole new level. I was totally captivated from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this production.
Although my family enjoyed the event very much I must say that allowing noisy chip and candy bags during the show is so very irritating. I spent most of the time being distracted by the crackling noises coming from the person in front of me.
Amadeus was superb from start until finish. 8 of us from young(11) to old(never mind) all enjoyed it.
Amadeus ranks as one of my all time favourite movies. The story as told of Mozart and Salieri is captivating and the music...oh, the music is just brilliant. To experience all this with a live orchestra and choir was an unbelievable experience and added a completely new dimension to my viewing pleasure. This will never be forgotten and I can't wait to experience the next live movie performance.
Maybe we were just expecting too much. I really thought that the movie would be running, and when the music started that we would be treated to the complete songs. With the movie put on hold, and then resumed. I also thought that the choir and orchestra would be performing background music throughout. This was really just so disappointing. I have seen the movie a few times and I think that there was no difference from watching this in my living room.
The movie was terrific to begin with, but with the orchestra & choir, It seemed like so much more. We really enjoyed it.
I have always loved the movie, Amadeus seeing it at least 3 times. This time, however, with the backing of the symphony orchestra and the Mendelson choir - it was a thrilling experience. I attend the symphony and the opera regularly - so this was just the icing on the cake! do you think that the producers would be interested in doing Dearly Beloved live for Beethoven - During intermission, spoke with a young man who was thrilled by the performance - it was his first time and he hoped that he would be able to enjoy more performances like this in the future as it is difficult for him (timewise) and this productton gave him a thumbnail sketch!
An all time great cult movie accompanied by a faultless orchestra and choir
