Amanda Miguel on Tour

Argentine powerhouse singer Amanda Miguel rose to fame in the early '80s in collaboration with her late husband, singer/songwriter Diego Verdaguer. The duo were set to tour together, but Verdaguer fell ill with COVID-19 in December 2021 and passed away in January 2022. In light of his untimely passing, and to honor her husband's memory, Miguel is bringing her fire, energy and high spirit back to the stage for a set of dates that include stops in several cities across the United States. Recognized for her sharp voice and captivating stage presence, Amanda Miguel is the singer of the smash hit "Él Me Mintió" who developed a dedicated following in Mexico. Now, you can't mention names of Latin American musicians who took the craft to the next level in the '80s without the name Amanda Miguel. In 2022 Miguel released the spirit-lifting love song "Fuiste Tú" -- her last duet with her late husband -- on what would have been his 71st birthday on April 26. Witness the iconic Amanda Miguel live when she comes to a city near you.

Amanda Miguel Live in Concert

Born in Gaiman, in the Chubut Province in Argentina, Amanda Miguel moved to Buenos Aires at age 16 and studied music at the conservatory. She met Diego Verdaguer in the early '70s when she joined his group, Mediterráneo. They were subsequently wed in 1975 and remained married until Verdaguer's untimely passing in 2022. After joining Mediterráneo, Miguel's strong voice and star power led her to launch her solo career with Verdaguer serving as her songwriting partner and producer. She made her solo recording debut in 1979 with the single "Papá, Cuando Regreses," followed by her full-length album debut, 1981's El Sonido, Vol. 1. The album was a blockbuster hit featuring the smash singles "Él Me Mintió" and "Mi Buen Corazón." In 1985, Miguel was among the more than 50 artists from Latin America and Europe who joined their voices to record the single "Cantaré, Cantarás" (I Will Sing, You Will Sing) -- also known as "Hermanos" -- with proceeds going to support feeding children in need.

The birth of their daughter, singer/songwriter Ana Victoria, in 1983 led Miguel to take a break from the recording studio and focus on motherhood. She returned to the music scene in 1987, with her fourth studio album, El Pecado, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart with the title track. The title track of her album Ámame una Vez Más was nominated for a Lo Nuestro Award for Pop Song of the Year in 1997. Her last duet with Verdaguer, "Fuiste Tú" ("It Was You"), was released in April 2022 after Verdaguer's passing. Most popular in Mexico, which she eventually made her residency, Amanda Miguel is also known for he roles on the big and small screen, including Yo También Tengo Fiaca and Feria Nacional de la Plata, and the TV series "Maite."
