    Annie is Fabulous!!

by Theatrepro on 2010-02-26Festival Place - Sherwood Park

I have seen live theatre in London, New York and at Edmonton's Citadel; I was completely surprised by the wonderful presentation of "Annie" by the Sherard Theatre group at Festival Place in Sherwood Park. The Casting of Annie was phenomenal; the talent in the cast is incredible!! It is amazing that this group of folks do this all volunteer. It is an incredible bargain for $23. 00 a ticket; I have paid 5 times that to see a show that doesn't deliver 1/2 of what Annie does. I loved the vocals, the dancing, the set changes, the orchestra; it is absolutely outstanding. Favorite characters: Annie - amazing that you found such a talent as this in Alberta Daddy Warbucks - incredible vocal range; this role couldn't have been cast any better Grace - outstanding vocal ability, beauty and talent. Miss Hannigan - absolutely wonderful performance Other favorites are Rooster and Miss St Regis; the overall cast was fabulous! The Director must be from New York or London; that talent cannot be local.

    Annie

The show was quite good, the acting and singing went very well, however the sound was terrible, the high pitch of the childrens voices and the lack of any bass and the high volume, which distorted the the sound, made it very uncomfortable to watch. Get the sound under control, get a n experienced sound man and you have a hit. The ochestra did very well, but again they were distorted by the high volume. It was a great idea to have the quartet in the lobby before the performance, they were most enjoyable.

    Annie was just OK

Annie character not cast very well. SOme voices were good but most below average. Orchestra too loud drowned out singers for most of the performance.

    Annie was boooorrrrring :o(

by suenkevan on 2010-02-22Festival Place - Sherwood Park

I took my 6 year old daughter on Sunday. We left at intermission as it was extremely boring. I really thought it should have been much cheaper for the tickets. it wasn't worth it, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Annie has not lost her charm

by Roge on 2010-02-22Festival Place - Sherwood Park

Dispite a very late prformance start 20 mins where all the kids were getting very restless. The production was the best I hae seen for years. Annie sure was the star but plenty of great support roles Miss Hanigan and the billionaire. It is a long production.

    Annie was amazing

I was so impressed with this musical...congrats to the director. Ms Hannigan was exceptional, Daddy Warbucks was a very intimating character with a soft side. Molly brought a tear to my eye on how wonderful she was, a scene stealer by far. Annie was amazing throughout.

    Annie at Festival Place

by Tweety on 2010-02-22Festival Place - Sherwood Park

Excellent entertainment for the money. We had previuosly been to the Citadel and were curious about this venue. We had bought row G seats which were front row, unfortunatelt they decided to put two rows of chairs in front of us. This really isn't good when you have a child with you and you constanly are tryoing to see around other peoples heads. On the whole though I would definately reccommend this theatre company. Some singing off key but again very good entertainment.

    A fantastic job!

by Roxete on 2010-02-21Festival Place - Sherwood Park

This was the 3rd time we've seen Annie and it was done really well. The way the sets were changed and incorporated into the play was done so professionally. It didn't disrupt the flow of the show at all.

Annie is Adorable and Fun for All!

by TwoBoysMom on 2010-02-20Festival Place - Sherwood Park

A lovely show with great singers and wonderful dance numbers. Everyone comes together nicely to give the audience a fun experience. Annie has a beautiful voice. Molly is a scene stealer with the orphans. Miss Hannigan and Grace are AMAZING. The Duo of Rooster and Lily provide lots of laughs and the trio performance of Easy Street is polished and sharp! Daddy Warbucks dominates in a bigger than life way and he has a great voice. The ensemble as a whole does great work filling out the world of depression era New York! Great fun for all ages!
