    ABITW

by Murphy on 2019-11-20Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Although the life story of RW was told through opera singing and acting, there was zero resemblance to Pink Floyd music through the production. That was very disappointing.

    The Wall Opera

by Liv on 2019-11-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Having seen other Operas and Rock Operas, Pink Floyd's The Wall was something unexpected. The production itself was awesome and the singing was extraordinary, but what I wasn't expecting was the way the original songs were presented, with long drawn out singing. It was also very dark and depressing. And a bit weird, but then again, the album is a bit weird as well as the movie. Overall, it was an excellent production, but in order to really appreciate it, you would need to appreciate Opera as a whole.

    Loved it!

by s. on 2019-11-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I had no idea what to expect but it was wonderful. The acting was great and the opera spin was so unusual and captivating. I would recommend it to anyone.

    The Wall

Good if you like opera. Not so good if you like Pink Floyd.

    Not my cup of tea...

by scorpyo on 2019-11-17Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I was pleasantly surprised when my seating was upgraded. However, my euphoria was short- lived. Perhaps, my expectations were unrealistic. I was expecting more incorporation of the original score. I have to mention the incredible talent of the cast: principals, chorus, as well as, musicians. Truly outstanding! I know we need to be more environmentally friendly, but to the extent of no programme provided? Few people paid attention to the info posted outside.

    Very disappointing

by Jackie on 2019-11-17Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

They ruined the songs by singing them in opera. The sound was terrible and you could hardly understand the words. Hence why they scrolled the words out to the audience so we could try and follow along. We left at the intermission as did a lot of other people.

    Pleasantly surprised

by Lala on 2019-11-16Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I didn't know what to expect, but I love Floyd and I love opera. I just wasn't sure how they would mesh. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. The music and staging brought the story to life in a unique way. I'm glad I took the chance. It's just a shame that more people didn't, since the theatre wasn't full.

    Not very enjoyable

by C. E. on 2019-11-16Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

The music was not great and seldom ressembled the original Pink Floyd tracks. The actual storyline was stale and predictable. The actors did not really seem to care about the performance so their movements were lazy. The musicians and singers clearly have talent, the composer and director do not.

    Horrible performance

by Sad Fan on 2019-11-16Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

We left after 30 minutes. The execution was poor and the music was awful! The lyrics were from The Wall. That’s about all that was Pink Floyd about it. I’m not sure who the intended audience is. I can’t see opera buffs liking it nor do I see Pink Floyd fans looking it. Save your money for an actual Pink Floyd show.
