Russell Brand never fails to deliver - in ALL ways

by Imatia on 2013-10-02Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The venue is top notch - totally accessible and very comfortable. The sound and sight lines were great and Russell Brand was his ever astounding self. The Messiah Complex title of the show with all of it's innuendos was an apt tour title. And Russell Brand totally delivered. I laughed uproariously and was completely entranced the entire show. His material was as fresh as he is and the way he spun his tales and then brought it all to a magnificent climax was pure magic! If you know his humour and appreciate his wit do not miss an opportunity to experience him live. I am hopeful the opportunity will come again.

    Had an absolute blast!

by MsFreebush on 2013-09-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

If you've watched various interviews with Russell Brand, then you already know that he's not only humorous but also very intelligent. With that said, Mr. Brand provided an absolutely hilarious show full of wit, a bit of audience interaction and a beautiful message about life.

Russell Brand from an Awkward View!

by RubyTuesdayRoby on 2013-09-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The comedy was great! No complaints other than I would have liked it more if it was longer! The reason for my review title is due to the location of the show. No air conditioning & no TVs for the balcony seats. Brand went into the crowd which was probably hilarious for the half of the audience who could see him. Next time Brand should go to Pantageous Playhouse or The Concert Hall.

    Russell Brand at the NAC

by mudlarker on 2013-09-03National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I absolutely adore Russell Brand, so of course I adored the show. I just felt that the venue was not right: in my mind the NAC is for the opera-going, play-watching, perfectly manicured crowd, and I just do not feel that that is the crowd that Russell Brand caters to. I guess the closest substitute for a venue would have been the Bronson Theatre but it is need of a few renovations. The show was what it promised to be: some grizzly truths and a lot of thrusting. It is what I expected, and that is exactly what Russell Brand delivered. However, there was a horrible wait to be seated, and once seated, there was another delay for the show to start. Moreover, the crew seemed unprepared for Brand to move amidst the crowd - it was not the first time he's done that, so they should have been prepared.

I am IN LOVE with this man.

by jenxxxxx on 2013-09-03Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Russell was so awesome... He's so witty, it's unbelievable. I'm sure that a ton of it was purely improv as well, which made it even more impressive. Warning though: You will fall obsessively in love with him...

    Russel Brand, smart AND funny!

by Ewac on 2013-09-03Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

If he ever comes back to town I will definitely be seeing him again! He's every bit as smart, hilarious and engaging as you'd hope!

    Hilarious!

by NursesRock on 2013-09-01Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My husband and I were really looking forward to this show, and we were not disappointed. Russell is hilarious, charismatic, and brilliantly funny. We enjoyed his set from start to finish. I haven't laughed that hard for that length of time in a very long time!

    Fantastic show

by PolythPam on 2013-08-29Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Great show. He was a little late but apologized, took the piss out of a rowdy audience member, made some profound points all while exhibiting his usual wit, charm, and devilish turns of phrase.

    A Great Show!

by bsmiles on 2013-08-29Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I've never read any of Russell's books, nor have I ever seen any of his stand up shows. So when a friend told me about him coming to town, I thought, why not? He's pretty amusing in the movies, so how bad can it be? What I did not expect was how intelligent Russell's show was! In my head, I thought the show would be all about sex and kind of silly comedy. It was really refreshing to hear some intelligent concepts brought up in a very funny way. This show made me think afterwards. I would definitely go to see Russell again!

    Russel Brand

by RobbG on 2013-08-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I thought Russel did an amazing job. Unforgiving nor asking for any forgiveness, he absolutely kept on track, and kept you laughing. I went into this show with low expectations and was blown away by his performance.

Great to see Russell Brand in Person

by gail on 2013-08-28Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Fantastic to see Russell Brand in his new tour. I have been wanting to see him for a few years now. It was a great show, he has great insights and opinions on things and does put everything into easy terms and funny terms too. He didn`t come out after the concert to meet anyone or have pictures taken, that was very disappointing as I had heard he does that alot. Too Bad the Burton Cummonings theatre had no Air conditioning or Even a Fan on for the performer least of all the crowd. Was a 40 C with the humidity night and we just stuck to the seats.!!

    Russell was great!!!

by Gemdog05 on 2013-08-28Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Was a great show! Russell was his swarthy, sexy, intellectual, funny self he did not disappoint. Also gave us things to think about but most importantly made us laugh our asses (and titties) off.

    Just O.K.

by thegirlwholikesmusic on 2013-08-28Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

40 minutes late. Unimpressed, especially when in a venue that is not air conditioned on a day that is 35 degrees. His excuse "dicking around"...ha...ha. His show was OK. He's funny but I wouldn't bother going to go see him a second time, not for the price I paid.

    Russell Brand was forgettable ...

by Littlyl on 2013-08-28Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

First of all, we went into the venue and it was ridiculously warm. Come on, it is a Winnipeg summer. When we put that many people in one hot room, it will not be comfortable for anyone, and it is also just going to be hotter. Then, the show started almost 40 minutes late with absolutely no explanation, and barely an apology from the person we paid $75 each to see. The show itself was not very well done, honestly, neither my boyfriend or I laughed much, especially not enough for $75. We both felt that show was often repetitive. The show ended up only being about an hour and twenty minutes. Honestly, it was agreed that we maybe would have spend $20 on the show.

Russell has changed and not in a good way :(

by SantaDaughter on 2013-08-28Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This is my 3rd time seeing RB. The 1st time I laughed my butt off and thought he was one of the funniest comedians I'd ever seen, the second time he seemed off and repeated a few jokes (he'd just gone through a divorce). This time he still repeated jokes (picture references to Usher, Olympic Rowers, etc) and the rest of his act was rant about religion and idiology and most of the night was a quiet audience...maybe he shouldn't list himself as a comic anymore...huge dissappointment

    Russell is edgy and fun

by WingmanMB on 2013-08-28Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The show started 45 minutes late but Russell made it up to us by giving a fun and enjoyable show. It should be said the the venue was tremendously uncomfortable, and as a result the show was far more subdued than one would have expected. We found ourselves praying for the show to end because of the 30 degree temperatures in the theatre. Still Russell did engage and amuse and I would see him again. Just not at the d walker/burton Cummings theatre in winnipeg

Russel Brand is the rock star of standup

by JohnnyZen on 2013-08-28Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The man is wicked funny and smart. He is aware of the absurdity of being a celebrity and muses on that. He's a great performer and gives every indication that he is a fine human being. I would not miss an opportunity to see or hear Russel anytime. He puts on a great show that stays with you long after the applause fades.
