Monkey Junk gets better all the time
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
I've seen Monkey Junk at Ottawa Bluesfest and they were one of the few real blues bands. The sound was perfect and that venue has excellent seating all around.

MonkeyJunk at their best
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
This was a fabulous 10th anniversary party. Top notch music and a great mix of their older material and the songs from their newest cd Time to Roll. Two great sets and a rousing encore.

They play the blues, that ain't no monkeyjunk
Arden Theatre - St Albert
Great show as usual and great humourous banter with the crowd. My only complaint is that I like their older music better than the newer stuff (which of course they played more of) but that's a matter of taste and the new stuff is still good music, and I understand that bands need to keep creating new music.

Once again, Canada rocks the music world!!
Arden Theatre - St Albert
From the moment MONKEYJUNK took the stage I was drawn into their music!! They were fabulously eclectic and dynamic in both range and style. They came back for a great encore, in spite of the audiences lacklustre response. My complaint - our audiences lack enthusiasm. I understand that the venues often determine the audience's behaviour, but the band was encouraging everyone to get up and dance and no one did, either because they are too polite or scared of the ushers. This must be very difficult for a band who loves to feel the energy from the audience. Excellent performance though and fantastic sound! Can't wait until their next time through the area!

There is something about watching a show from the sideline and seeing the whole audience bopping their heads. MonkeyJunk is amazing! This is an outstanding show and a must see for those who enjoy listening to soul, blues and rock.

Great show
Arden Theatre - St Albert
The guys were on, the music was great, and lots of cuts from their next album were played which makes one want to pick up a copy when its released. It was a full house and the band was truly appreciative of the support. Only issue was that the venue was a soft seater, and the band is probably better suited to a stand-up/dance/bar atmosphere.

More than just a blues show
L'Astral - Montréal
The members of Monkey Junk were quite clearly happy to be in Montreal playing for their fans. They played for a couple of hours before bringing guests Paul Deslauriers and Steve Hill on the stage for a guitar jam that brought everybody to stand up and be wowed by an incredible performance to end the show. L'Astral is the perfect venue for them as the intimacy is palpable. It is my fourth time seeing them live and they get better every time.

Monkeyjunk most entertaining
Festival Place - Sherwood Park
A very entertaining show by three talented musicians. Frontman Steve is very personable and keeps things going with the audience. The acoustic set was great and the electric set fantastic!
