Unpleasant surprise
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
I went to this show with my kids and I wish the organizers of the show had provided more accurate information in the show description and given me an opportunity to decide whether or not we should see the elements of striptease. This is not something you expect to see in a kids show and it left a bitter aftertaste. We used to like the shows in this series but from now on we will explore other venues to avoid "surprises".

I can't wait to take my grandkids to the Hallowe'en show. The animator, conductor were amazing in explaining all the music and dances.

Presentation des pieces excellente, bonne animation. Contente de découvrir de nouveaux artistes cubains. T l<orchestre du CMA, comme toujours impeccable. Merci

what's the target audience?!
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
In my opinion the show was poorly designed. There were constant interruptions of the flow by a the announcements after each song which would add no new information or energy to the show but would just stop the mood. The talks were too juvenile for adults and too complex for kids. The attempt to create a "party" was diminished by the seriousness of the musicians on the stage. I regret spending my time on this.

Love the musica
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
We love the interaction with the Cuban conductor, she kept the audience engaged. The choice of music was good. Wish it would have been a bit longer. I love that when we asked the Latino players to play one more at the end they did, it was fantastic to hear them!!! I wish the NAC would bring in more shows with a Latin flavour. Like in the past “Passion de tango” Keep them coming, gracias.

Wonderful!
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
I loved the show. My only comment is that the image used to publicize the show had a woman in a beautiful dress, and we were expecting to see her perform. So there was a little disappointment for my 3 year old who was looking forward to seeing more dance.

Good but with reservations
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
The program was good although the audio when the conductor spoke left a lot to be desired. It was hard to hear him. I also wished he was more engaged and engaging with his young audience - a little humour would have gone a long way. Also, the concert was a little too long for this audience - could have cut back by 10 or 15 minutes. The end was a little abrupt. He could have announced that the last piece was indeed the end.

Really cool show
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
I went to see my friend sing in the choir that sang one song about water, and I was in awe by the entire concert. The orchestra, the soloists, the choir, every part of the concert was amazing. The way each song and soloist and group brought something different to the topic of the concert was wonderful.

Wonderful first orchestra experience for the little one
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
This is the first orchestra for my 5 years old. She love the variety and the length was just right. Not to long like the normal orchestra with intermission. It would be better if there is some hands on experience or a getting to know the instruments session before or after the program to engage the children more.

Too simple
National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa
The concert was fine for an adult. Too serious for a child. I was expecting at least some fun images on the back screen or a light show on the walls. Something that would have been easy to do and would have made the show magical for kids. These kids show used to be really fun, I feel like the investment in them is minimum now. The orchestra is fantastic though.
