1800's Classic
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
Giselle was a beautiful ballet, the dancers did the story a great justice. It was well executed and the stage was gorgeous with all its bright colours in the first half and so ghostly mystical in the second half. I'm giving this 4 stars only because I have seen far better productions and as much as I loved this ballet, and it's a classic that everyone should see, it is a very slow burning play.

Feast for the eyes
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
Giselle performed by Alberta Ballet was so beautiful. The set is stunning, the music delightful, and the technical level of ballet is superb! The dancers gave it their all and it showed. Their moves were fluid and lovely to behold. If you want to experience something visually spectacular, this is one ballet you won't want to miss.

2 adults and 2 children, 3 of us enjoyed it.
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
Ballet was very well done but was a bit disappointed in costumes in the first act. I saw Giselle in UK and dresses were very colourful with lots of ribbons, ideal for children. Parking attendant was very kind and said "to enjoy the show" an older man.

Great performance!
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
I was pleasantly surprised with the performance! I attended the Alberta Ballet to enjoy a different form of entertainment outside of the usual option of attending a hockey game and have no background knowledge of the arts and/or dancing. The performers did an exceptional job which seemingly drew in the audience. Very talented individuals! Great job.

Lovely production
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
It’s great to see local talent that works hard to perform and produce a good product on the stage. With more experience, I could see these rival the talent shown on Broadway or even Europe.

I was grinning ear to ear from the moment the performance began, until the moment it ended. What a wonderful experience to be a part of.

Beautiful BUT the Centre Section is always a mistake.
Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary
Alberta Ballet's matinée performance of this romantic ballet was lovely. The ballet blanc was all I'd hoped it would be. The challenge remains the venue. The person's head in front of me — no fault to them — was 45% of the middle stage for the entire first act. My guest and I were able to move to stand alone chairs for the second act but isn't this just the way it is at the Jubilee Auditorium, Centre Sections are almost always a mistake. I stand 6'0" and always try and avoid blocking the person seated behind me, did so for this performance but essentially missed most of the opening act. The venue's floor is especially just terrible for this.
The most famous ballet of the romantic era is Giselle.
This ghostly love story is celebrated for its emotional power and awe-inspiring choreography.
Giselle is a young peasant girl whose secret relationship unravels the fabric of her idyllic village, but there's a deeper deception at play, which drives her to madness. Trust and betrayal continue to twist the plot in the other-worldly realm of Act 2, when the ethereal Wilis seek their revenge.
Christopher Anderson will premiere a new interpretation of this masterpiece. It will be a stunning addition to Alberta Ballet's repertoire of classics which have previously included his Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.
