About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

Atmosphere and Evidence both put on a great show! Was a little surprised by the setlist of Atmosphere and was hoping to hear some of their “newer” stuff as well but regardless, it was a great time with even better music!

This was the third time I have seen atmosphere and by far was my favorite show. I love seeing them live and I am never disappointed with the performance. I love going to shows at the Odeon and the vibe that they gave off was unreal. Five stars!

Go for doors open. What an experience. Incredible line-up of indie hip hop. I hadn't been introduced to Rhymesayers until my music-loving, fellow hip hop aficionado friend invited me to this show. I had to say yes! the PROF made me laugh BLUEPRINT was mesmerizing EVIDENCE was pure and ATMOSPHERE brought it all home all slick-like This got me very excited about hip hop again! The crowd was chll too in the T dot. enjoy

  • AMAZING.

Atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal. It was the first official concert I've ever been to and it seriously set my standards high. Slug is great and interacts with the crowd. The transitions between the songs were cohesive and flowed great. Also the rest of the group although they never actually speaked looked like they were just as much part of the performance as Slug. Some of the songs he put a spin on and would add the name of the city or just put in a cool twist. Everyone looked like they were having a blast and it was so cool to see adults look like kids fascinated and fixated on the stage and the performance. The opening acts were so engaging and to make up for the fact that some of us probably didn't know them they kept a really open dialogue with the audience. Prof, even gave a free copy of a cd of his. Honestly the only part that made me a bit dissapointed was that I was late and Slug said he was sitting outside greeting people so I could've met him. Other than that this concert was worth every single hard earned penny. Mind you I went alone. P.S. - DJ Babu is INSANE.

Very interactive. Lots of crowd participation. The whole show had a strong sense of community about it. I was glad to be a part of it.

  • Atmosphere at the Odeon

by Ashleighnikiann on 2011-05-16The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

Atmosphere put on a great show as always. The energy was high and they really got the crowd moving and involved in the show. The sound quality was average, but good. I quite enjoyed the light show! It was practically hypnotizing. The event sold out, and with so many people in such a small place, it got almost unbearably hot as Atmosphere took the stage. I wish the venue had cranked the air conditioning or something.
