Avi Kaplan Live in Concert
Avi Kaplan is an American singer/songwriter who has won three Grammy Awards as part of the band Pentatonix. In 2017, Kaplan released his solo debut EP Sage and Stone under the name Avriel & the Sequoias. In 2020 Kaplan released his second EP I'll Get By, after signing with Fantasy Records. Kaplan's Floating on a Dream was released in May 2022, just in time for his national tour.
Kaplan was born and raised in Visalia, California. He threw himself into his music at a young age as something positive to focus on. He went on to attend Mt. San Antonio College, where he studied opera and choral studies. In college, he joined the all-male a cappella group Fermata Nowhere. Fermata Nowhere became the first community college group to win the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs.)
In 2011, Kaplan joined Pentatonix. The band grew wildly successful, launching Kaplan's career. In order to give back, Kaplan co-founded A Cappella Academy, a camp for teens to learn how to sing in the a cappella style.
Kaplan now resides in Nashville, Tennessee. The singer/songwriter enjoys writing songs on his front porch, as his home is surrounded by forest. He enjoys getting away from it all and connecting with nature as a grounding technique and a way to connect with his creative thoughts and music ideas.
