Canadian singer Avril Lavigne has a gift for zippy pop-rock and teen-punk anthems, one she bestowed on grateful fans again with her fifth consecutive top 10 album released in November 2013. The self-titled album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and had some critics calling it her best work in years. It's a nostalgic endeavor that weaves the familiar, flamboyant sound from the artist's brat-rock roots with catchy brand-new hooks. The lead single "Here's to Never Growing Up" is the kind of assertive and infectious pop track she's famous for, while the album's ballads include the more mature single "Let Me Go" co-written with husband and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. Lavigne first shot up the charts in 2002 with the hit "Complicated" from her debut album Let Go when she was still a teenager. In the decade since she's sold 30 million albums and hundreds of thousands of concert tickets on high-energy international tours. Late 2013 saw Lavigne playing several US concert dates with plans to take her tour to Asia the following year.
It's my first time to go to Avenir, watch a concert, and watch my favorite artist perform. Great experience!
Satisfied my inner child. Was not a bad concert. However, the sound quality was subpar. Grandson was better than expected.
Sound was good, venue was good, show was great. No big screen, wish I had of paid for decent seats.
She sounded the same live as she did recorded. Her band was crazy good along with her. Her vocals were perfect and she stayed on key and was so good at interacting with the crowd. Her opening act was okay but the sound wasn’t optimized for them and they sounded a bit distorted.
My wife had dental surgery a couple days before the events rescheduled date so we couldn't attend. Hope she makes it out here again soon!
Sounds just as good live as she does on Digital was blown away what a talented beautiful woman
I got these tickets for free cuz my ex bought them for me and then dumped me, i brought a friend instead cuz F him right, and it was AWESOME. Avril is GREAT irl and my inner child was freaking out. At least one good thing came out of dating my ex, which was seeing avril lavigne. GRÉÂT SHOW!
Avril's stage presence is unmatched. Her energy and vibes are so cool. The opening act, The Beaches was worth seing too. Been a fan of Avril since her first album , so glad i finally got to see her. A childhood dream come true. Come back to Moncton soon :) ♡
The show itself was great but it only lasted 1 hr and 15 minutes. For an artist who has many hits, sure could've added songs to her 14 song set. Also, because Mod Sun was no longer an opener for this show, she skipped their duet. I thought she'd replaced it with another song but nope.
Avril didn’t play long, but the concert was focused on talent rather than glitz and glitter. The balloons and audience participation was great! Good concert Avril!
Daughter #1 3rd time seeing Avril -Daughter #2 first concert ever We all agree Avril puts on an amazing show and has incredible tatent!! ********Avril ages like a fine wine************
Enjoyed Avril, except she didn't play long enough. Expected it to be longer than an hour and 10 mins.
The Beaches were great, had us all amped up for Avril, Avril was late coming on and didnt play as long as we hoped, but she was great. Some fans waited outside for her to get autographs signed, but she got out of there quickly, so that was sad. But all in all, great concert. Hope to see her again, for the 3rd time.
Avril delivered. She is likeable and played a great blend of her greatest hits and new album. The concert itself was short by todays standards... I would expect about 2 hours... this was about 90minutes padded with an extended applause break pre encore plus two times the band filled in while she left the stage. Our set was only 15 songs including the mostly instrumental Hello Kitty. In many other cities her shows are 16 or 17 (which is still a little light) Her screen behind her wasnt really that big for a stadium show and was used for theme a lot showing a blend of her videos with occasionally her live image superimposed... it looked good but if you werent close to the stage you didnt really benefit from the screens... we are used to seeing the performers larger than life... not often enough. With this stylistic video show plus prerecorded guest singers like machinegunkelly and layered vocals it felt lip synched at times too... because you were hering her vocal overlay, but she did seem to be singing the entire show and sounded great... it just seemed like she was singing with a safety net. All that said, this was my first time seeing her and I did enjoy her show a LOT. I got my moneys worth and a solid night of entertainment... it could have been better in the mentioned ways.
My daughter was very excited to see Avril. We had a great overall experience.
She was absolutely amazing and worth every cent to watch, I would go again for sure
My daughters first concert at Rogers Arena! We loved seeing Avril. However we felt like she could have sang more of her songs. We felt like the 2 opening bands sang way more then she did. All in all it was still an amazing night out with my beautiful daughter Aubrey!
Could’ve been a little longer on Avrils part. Security was no help when people had taken our seats.
Avril always deliver a good performance. The arena is extremely organized and the security and staff is very professional and deserve my personal congratulations. Avrils team and staff did an excellent job. The opening concerts were awesome and everything was on point. My only complaint is that we could have concerts like this everyday. Congratulations to all.
I was listening to Avril’s music more than 15years ago, felt soooo good to see her in person and her live performance in the concert, all about youth memory. Beyond that, the waiting time for her to show up was quit long, we were seated at about 8:15pm, but she showed up at 10pm..
