Great show. Aziz is on his A game and the crowd was the right age to appreciate his sense of humour. A few of his jokes were meant for mostly white American crowds, don't think he was expecting a solid contingent of Indian people - made for some interesting crowd responses. All in all, definitely think I'll check him out again when he comes to town,

    THIS GUY... FUNNY TO HELL!!!!

by Hechy on 2012-07-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

First seeing him on Parks & Rec changed my life, now seeing him live on tour... THIS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. My boyfriend and I will now see things on the street or hear people talking about stuff and giggle to ourselves that Aziz put that thought in our head. Great show, come back soon

    Aziz is WICKED funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by HortDog on 2012-07-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Aziz is such a professional, he gets the buisness stuff out of the way and we all appriated it! Then he kicks your ass with great stories!!! He is just a natural funny person and his delivery and view on things is amazing! He jokes are different everytime I have seen his standup (on TV or DVD).....I would not hesitate to go see him again, I almost bought tickets to see the same show a second time at the 10:30 @ the sony centre!

    Inexperienced comic

by Bob123456798 on 2012-07-09National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

He really shouldn't try to interact with the audience as he's lacking in the quick-thinking improvisational skills needed to transform mundane answers into comedy material, but his prepared material wasn't bad. I found myself looking at my watch as the show dragged several times. Not as good as the headliners in most comedy clubs on a Saturday night.

    aziz lost his touch

by jonnycraft on 2012-07-09National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

this is not a review from someone who fell in love with aziz watching a sitcom...i feel like i've been swindled! i am lover of good stand up comedy...i feel like aziz spent too much time rehearsing, to the point that he forgets that he is supposed to come off as being spontaneous.....way too scripted and not funny....not being true to the craft

    Smart and Hilarious

by MKD1234 on 2012-07-09National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Worth every penny, the material was really smart and absolutely hilarious. Aziz also interacted with the audience and made up some great jokes on the fly. Had a lot of funny insight on the concerns of ppl in their late 20s, early 30s. The opening act was also great, Chelsea Perretti. Not your typical female comedian. Overall, awesome.

    Buried Alive!

by MetallicaDan on 2012-07-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Aziz Ansari, most notable for his role as Tom Haverford on the TV show Parks and Recreation and movies like 30 Minutes or Less and Funny People has really found his voice as a stand-up comic. Part of his 'Buried Alive' tour, it was non-stop laughs through the whole show. I especially liked "I am not doing Celebrity Ghost Stories because... I've never seen a ghost!". The vegan joke too was pretty solid with "Oh you don't want to hurt the little animals...But you're fine with the immigrants picking your vegetables. You don't care about them only because they have no fur!". He seems very comfortable on stage and his set really flowed well. There was some great fan interaction as well with stories on how people got engaged. I definitely recommend people check Aziz out next time he is in town. Opening act Chelsea Peretti killed it too, super funny and worth checking out.

I particularly love Aziz's humor, so...

by PRock on 2012-07-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

His particular breed of comedy is right up my alley though, which is why I'm giving him an "amazing" review. I just love everything he does. To be honest, I think his "Buried Alive" tour might even be slightly better than his last tour "Dangerously Delicious". Can't wait to see him again. If you're reading this Aziz, I hope you had a chance to check out The Mercury Lounge in Ottawa after your show, and that it did not disappoint!

Aziz was simply hilarious!!! His opening act, Chelsea Peretti was just as funny, and was the perfect act to open up the show.

by RickDeer on 2012-07-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Aziz Ansari... This is the third show he's done, and it did not disappoint. Very funny all the way through. There was a opening act that I was unaware of, which was okay. Did not do any Raaaandy jokes.

    We would certainly go again!

by Sable1 on 2012-07-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We were so excited to see Aziz Ansari live. We are fans of his from Parks and Rec and his stand up. He opened the show in a funny way and he encouraged the audience to get their photos out of the way in the first 5 minutes - so the flashes wouldn't be distracting for the entire show. The jokes were all ones we hadn't heard before, so we were never bored. The only downside was not the fault of the performer, but of the Sony Centre. The show was scheduled to start at 7:30, but they didn't open the door to the theatre until after 7:15. There was a big crowd waiting to get in, no where to sit on the bottom floor, and then the show started late.

    Great show!

by Miffy on 2012-07-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Pretty much what you would expect from Aziz Ansari. This show was sort of focused on the things twenty and thirtysomethings worry about - getting married, having children, how much more fun it is when you don't have either, etc. The opener was really great, too, Chelsea ___, can't remember her last name! Awesome night out overall.

Best comedy show I have been to yet. Aziz was funnier than anything I have seen him do on tv or in film. I will see him again when he comes back to Toronto.
