BANKS IN CONCERT:

R&B newcomer Banks is generating major buzz in 2014, turning heads with her dark beats and synth-heavy music. Drawing influence from artists like Fiona Apple and Lauryn Hill, Banks’ songs possess a mysterious beauty, and when paired with her frail, sultry vocals, the result is stunning. During her live shows, she mesmerizes with hits like "Waiting Game" and "This Is What It Feels Like," seducing fans with her commanding stage presence and alluring voice. Banks will grace the stage once again on an upcoming world tour, delighting fans with her critically acclaimed tracks.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Los Angeles-based Jillian Banks began writing music at the age of 15, teaching herself piano to better cope with her parents' divorce. The sexy songstress released her first EP London in 2013 — a breakout year for the newcomer — landing an opening spot on tour with The Weeknd. Billboard Magazine named Banks a "magnetic writer with songs to obsess over," and she's attracted attention from some of pop's biggest stars, including Ellie Goulding. Hot on the heels of her 2014 Coachella appearance, Banks returns to the stage to share material from her debut Goddess on a string of highly anticipated worldwide tour dates.

    Disappointed

by Tee on 2022-07-26History - Toronto

Banks is one of my all time faves so I really only went there for. However as an avid concert goer I know there will be opening acts. I didnt understand why the opening acts were on for a lengthy time especially the second artist. To make matters worse BANKS' performance seemed rushed and not enough of her amazing songs were not showcased. I wish I couldve heard more from BANKS herself but I still go to her concerts as I am a huge fan

    Absolutely phenomenal

by Tori on 2022-07-26History - Toronto

This was my first time seeing BANKS live and my expectations were not only met but exceeded. BANKS sounded just as good (if not better) as her recordings. She put on an amazing show, was super interactive with the fans and really helped make the experience amazing even for those without VIP tickets. I went into the venue not knowing what to expect and left absolutely amazed by the performance. I would 100% go see BANKS live again.

Banks - HerNameIsBanks - High Energy Quality Show

by SweetLifeForever on 2022-07-26History - Toronto

Two excellent opening acts, then after a sound/light check Banks came on with full power. Samoht had to stop his act to request medical attention for someone in distress on the floor. He was amazing. Lauren Jauregui was also excellent. Many of her fans were in the audience Banks played at a great pace with audience interaction and also played a fan favorite song for the very first time in public at this show. Her Dancers were awesome too. History had classy security and a very nice set up. Good choice of beverages and good air flow within the event. Improvements could be turning off the advertising TV monitors once the performers start their acts. The monitors were only turned off when Banks started. Some of the strobes from the show were way too bright and aimed directly at the people in the mezzanine. Other than that, a great event, thanks

    Banks

by Kathleen on 2019-10-01Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

She’s a goddess of course! Her voice was amazing, when she sang. I was disappointed with the lip syncing...was not covered up well. Besides that everything was amazing! The dancing, the light show! So much fun!

    Amazing!

by samjuna on 2019-09-29Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Banks is by far my favourite artist. I have followed her since her first album and have always loved her music. It was awesome to see her perform a second time and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. She is an amazing artist and I look forward to seeing her again in the future!

    ALL HAIL THE QUEEN

by Peggy on 2019-09-27Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Banks was every bit as awesome as I expected. She has amazing energy. I especially enjoyed the short poem she recited for us between songs. It was really sweet.

    Amazing performer; wrong venue

by Scj on 2019-09-27Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

The performance was fantastic, her live vocals were insane. Venue choice was completely wrong, because it was seated everyone was too self conscious to dance or party and it was awkward giving the whole thing a stale, lacklustre feel. Also the sound guy of that venue needs to be fired, so much reverb and overkill with the instrumental. At times you could barely hear her singing.

    Terrible Audio

    by S. F. on 2019-09-27Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

The entire concert was unintelligible as her vocal levels were drowned out by the rest of the music; worst concert I've ever been to. It's like they never did sound check at all. Complete waste of really good seats. Strangely the sound was a spot on for the opener Kevin Garrett.

    Impeccable

by Cee on 2019-09-07MTELUS - Montreal

My girlfriend and I have been to all 3 Banks shows in Montreal, and they've been consistently amazing. She's one of the most creative, unique and talented artists out right now, she really should be playing Bell Centre with the quality of her music but that's a whole other convo. The venue is dope af as always. Clean, nuff space to see, easy and fast to get a drink. Only criticisms would be to bring in some local craft beer vs ABI stuff, and it'd be great if there were bathrooms downstairs, it's like going to the gym every time you need to pee. 13/10 would recommend.

    Underwhelming

by Murphs on 2019-09-06REBEL - Toronto

Banks sounded great and I love her music but this was her third album and tour and it felt like her first tour. Only backlighting and could barely see her. The lighting felt like just basic club lighting and nothing made for a concert. No set and very little choreo. If I didn't like her music so much, I would have been really bored.

    Banks

    by Bonkaz97 on 2019-09-06REBEL - Toronto

Overall great concert. Her voice was on point. It was her first concert of the tour and in two years, so she got tired easily. Her dancers could use some work and there was no encore performance but again, it was her first concert. I'm proud to be a fan!

    BANKS LIVE

    by B. on 2019-09-06REBEL - Toronto

Phenomenal live performer, great show. I wish she had played some encores, but the flow of song choice made up for the shortened time.
