It was a revival often 60's event

by DonD on 2012-06-16Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

These Beatle impersonators were second to none, well done, very enjoyable. Each impersonator sounded and played their counterpart like it wasthereal The repertoire of their music was inspiring, and their voices were incredible. Well worth seeing. The only negative was the set, lighting, not very impressive, the bass sound sometimes was to dominating.

    beatledown

by grinner2 on 2012-06-16Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This is the 2nd time I have seen Beatlemania. What would have been rated as amazing I downgraded to average. The first 1/2 was incredible. The stagecraft was terrific and the musicianship unbelievable, but for the 2nd half the bass was turned up so high it reverbed throughout the entire building and ended up distorting everything. I was very disappointed. Especially after having seen it once and having very happily anticipated this 2nd viewing

    BEATLEMANIA On Tour 2012

by Shmole on 2012-06-16Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Was good....but preferred RAIN. Slicker production...seems to take it more seriously. BEATLEMANIA almost seemed a parody of The Beatles, where RAIN do everything they can to make you feel you are really at a Beatles Show!! 3 out of 5

Beatlemania in Calgary June 13th 2012

by Haddi on 2012-06-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This show chronicles the different periods and stages in the development of The Beatles from The Star Club in Hamburg to the Apple studio roof top concert in 1969. The cast is incredibly authentic - mimicking the body language, movement and voices of the fab four to such an extent that it was uncanny. Even "George" made few blunders on the guitar in Hamburg (the real one improved greatly as time went by). Or perhaps it wasn't intentional? It was an eclectic first half and I was looking forward to The Lonely Hearts Club Band after the break. But then something went horribly wrong with the sound mixing. The bass was turned up so the whole building resonated. The treble was maxed out on the microphones and the other instruments making for an excruciatingly painful sound that lacked everything except the extreme ends of the frequency range. The singing even went off key at times and the audience was clearly shaken, some left to escape the cacaphony. How could this be allowed to happen? Things improved slightly towards the end, but never regained the balance. No word of explanation or apology was heard from the mixing engineers at the back of the hall and I don't know if the cast on the stage even realised what was happening at all (at least they didn't indicate that in any way). What a great start and what tragedy when it all came crashing down. i hope for the sake of the remaining performances' audiences that Beatlemania do what ever is necessary (heads should roll!) to prevent this catastrophy from repeating itself.

The show was a little short. Intermission came too quickly just as the audience was getting warmed up. Felt some of the classic Beatles from the later years were missed. It was still fun to attend.

Not quite the Beattles I remember

by Dust3 on 2012-06-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The venue for this show was not really the place to be. Not allowed to get up to dance- the amp was way off - all we heard was the Base pounding so loud that we left before the final song, with head aches. I never realized how very simple the lyric's of the Beattles songs where and how repetitive they are. I was somewhat disappointed with this show.

    very good show

by Sissy71 on 2012-06-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This is an extremely talented group of young men. They have beautiful voices and are excellent musicians. I think the Calgary crowd was a bit challenging to get warmed up but these guys pulled it off and had folks up on their feet. The show was a fun trip through the Beatles era. I would recommend it for an entertaining night out.

Beatlemania provided an enjoyable evening but I could not say that this is a great show. It was just okay for me.

Beatlemania was a fun night out!

by TraceyH on 2012-06-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The cast of Beatlemania did a great job impersonating the Beatles band and with just the right amount of humor. It was educational and entertaining. The audience at the Jube was not as lively as they could have been and I think it would have been more enjoyable if they had been more involved in the performance, as if the crowds back in the actual craze days. There were a few nice surprises and it was very well done.

    Well done!

by CalgaryMusicFan on 2012-06-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I am a long-time Beatles fan and am very familiar with their music. I attended with my 12-year-old son who also likes the Beatles. The band moves (mostly) chronologically through the Beatles songbook, and with costume changes their look matches the time period. Roughly, they appear as 1962 Beatles, 1964-65 Beatles, 1967 Beatles, and 1969 Beatles. They were good look-a-likes and sound-a-likes for the most part. (Not so much for "Ringo".) "Paul" is even a lefty, so that added to the overall effect. If you are very familiar with the Beatles, you are not going to be fooled by their sound or their looks (unless you sit far back), but they still offer a very enjoyable performance. My son enjoyed it a lot also. The band is called "Them Beatles" if you want to look them up. A fun time, and recommended. A good introduction to a live rock concert for younger kids also.

Beatlemania, had the best time ever!!!!

by yogiebearswife on 2012-06-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Really enjoyed the concert. surprised myself, was able to sing most of the songs. I actually got up and danced to a few of the songs. Three girls infront of us were up the whole time. It was nice to see young adults enjoying the Beatles. I think a lot of we older people were either too old or too shy to get up and really enjoy the dancing. That was disappointing. The costume changes were what really made the show entertaining. My husband is a music trivia person and had all around us waiting for the commentary about each era.
