BETH HART IN CONCERT:

For more than two decades, blues singer-songwriter Beth Hart has been moving audiences with her soulful voice, heartrending lyrics, and finely crafted songs about love and loss. Hart is a storyteller of the first order, delivering world-wise songs like "LA Song (Out of This Town)" and "Leave the Light On" with an honesty and intensity that make her concerts an unforgettable experience. Whether she's sharing the stage with legendary guitarist Joe Bonamassa or playing with her supremely talented band, Hart is a world-class performer whose passionate and confessional live shows satisfy on every level.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Beth Hart was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, where she began playing the club scene in her early twenties. In 1993 she made several appearances on Ed McMahon's Star Search, going on to win the season's Female Vocalist prize thanks to her emotive voice and heart-on-sleeve performances. That same year she released her debut album Beth Hart and the Ocean of Souls, an auspicious collection of songs that featured the fan favorite "Am I the One". She put together a band for 1996's Immortal, and in 1999 the lineup achieved breakthrough success with the album Screaming for My Supper. The record's lead single "LA Song (Out of This Town)" cracked the Top 5 on the soft rock charts and reached No. 1 in New Zealand. Hart continued to work with a rotating lineup of musicians on subsequent releases including 2003's Leave the Light On and 2007's 37 Days. In 2013 she and Joe Bonamassa topped the Blues Albums chart with Seesaw, a critically acclaimed collaboration that earned a Best Blues Album nomination at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Beth Hart is a must see talent

by stoneycanuk on 2015-06-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Great relatively undiscovered US singer/songwriter and keyboard player. Thanks to Joe Bonamassa, I got to hear Beth - a raunchy singer in the style of Janis Joplin, Etta James, etc. Venue: Small, intimate with good acoustics Lighting: Basic but adequate Band: Tight with two good guitarists - one has been with Beth for 15 years and the other sounds like Carlos Santana! Audience: Smaller than expected but everyone who was there knew the lyrics and clearly enjoyed the show! Set: I wish that she had sung more tracks from "See Saw" and "Don't Explain". Summary: I would see her again!

    The Fantastic Beth Hart

by LaineyH on 2015-06-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Beth was absolutely fantastic, as was her band. My only regret was that she didn't sing I'd Rather Go Blind. I received a copy of the set list from her husband and it was supposed to be the encore. Disappointed!!

    Wow, just wow!

by hankyknot on 2015-06-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Beth Hart has to be one of the most underrated artists around today. She is a hugely talented individual that in my opinion outshines the oft compared Janis Joplin by a rather large margin. Her vocals are ripped from a place deep inside and never fail to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up when they're cast forth and engulf you. Her band play a really tight set and both guitarists are supremely talented but its Beths passionate vocals that let you know without a shadow of a doubt that you are in the midst of something amazing. If you haven't seen her before then go see her first chance you get. And if you have seen her before then you've probably already bought your tickets.

    Sound was awful

by cbh747 on 2015-06-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I really was looking forward to seeing Beth Hart, she has an incredible voice and has put out some really good music. Unfortunately, the sound was so bad that the lyrics were indecipherable and the vocals were buried. While she was onstage, she made a joke about a previous crowd complaining about the sound. This was no joke, this was the worst that I have experienced and I take in live music probably once a week. Very disappointing.

Beth Hart - What a voice!

by AceDrummer3 on 2015-06-30The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

While the sound and venue left a little to be desired there was no mistaking the amazing performance put on by Beth Hart and her band. Her interaction with and reading of her audience was second to none - even to the point of getting personally involved with a fan who was in distress towards the end of the set. Fabulous, soulful voice and great stage presence. Loved it all. Wished it was half an hour longer.

    she only gets better

    by blues4all on 2015-06-29Métropolis - Montreal

each year we get to see beth hart we have to move to bigger and bigger venues but she still keeps it intimate We have seen her in as small as 200 seat ( standing ) bar now up to the metropolis and expect next tour it will grow again As always she delivered in spades doing most of her new album and that gave it a feel of comfort as she seems to be groing much more comfortable in her skin. The voice was astounding and she moved and played off of the audience and band with joy A not to miss event whenever she is near town

    Beth Hart blew me away!!

by Anonymous on 2015-06-29Métropolis - Montreal

I know Beth Hart from her performances with Joe Bonamassa. She blew me away then and now seeing her live even more so. She packs a lot of energy which is maybe why the show was not as long as I had hoped. Nevertheless I would see her again anytime. She seems very engaging with the crowd. She has come a long way on a tough journey but she really seems to be maturing as a performer and writer. Overall a great evening. Metropolis is a great venue especially with the reserved seating.
