by BobbyDobbs on 2009-08-25Mod Club Theatre - TorontoBrendan Benson came and did his part, but sadly, Toronto crowds can be a little lethargic in general. A Monday concert by a guy too many probably hoped would be doing a bunch of Raconteurs songs were a challenge and even led to Benson leaving after 40 minutes stating 'Time is really flying'. The guy deserves a lot better. As far as the show goes-was great, the sound was impressive and he managed to squeeze out many of his great songs during his brief first set and then later encore. Maybe if he comes back and can play a Massey Hall type of place it would go over better. But still- a great show by him and good sounding band.
