Brick + Mortar on Tour

Any venue better be ready when the two-man party of Brick + Mortar shows up. The bass n' drum electro-rock duo bring upbeat sounds mixed with head-rocking vocals. Consisting of life-long friends Brandon Asraf on bass and vocals and John Tacon on drums, electric samples and backup vocals, Brick + Mortar fall under the indie-rock/indie electric umbrella with an alt/punk sound attached. Asraf stated in a 2011 interview with The Aquarian, "We have bits of indie, dub and the spirit of punk." Forming in 2008, Brick + Mortar started playing music together when they were in high school. Originally forming as an improv bass and drums collaborative, they slowly shifted by adding electronic samples and pop beats into their music. In 2010, the band dropped their first LP, 7 Years In the Mystic Room, with songs "20 LB" and "Backwards Clock." In 2013, Brick + Mortar released their first full EP, under Photo Finish Records, named Bangs. Their next album Dropped was released in 2015, followed by Dropped Again in 2017. Their most recent album was titled Meta Meta Etc. (2018). In 2022, Brick + Mortar saw the creation of their singles "Self Care (So Frustrated)" and "Glamour of a Food Stamp."

Forming in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Brick + Mortar were known for performing in basements and underground venues. Growing up, both artists received minimal instrumental instruction, largely learning their skills through trial and error on their own. Their first experience on the big screen was when their remix of Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child" was used for the trailer for the movie, Hitman: Agent 47. Additionally, their song "Train" from their 2015 album Dropped was used for the trailer of the TV show, "Elementary." Their song "Train" also has more than 21 million streams online. Brick + Mortar currently have over 800,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Continued to be listened to by millions, their songs "Brighter Than the Sun," "Terrible Things," "Hollow Tune," and "Locked In A Cage" all have more than 10 million streams. Although not currently touring, their fans eagerly await the next chance to see Brick + Mortar live.
