About

BRONCHO IN CONCERT:

Few bands capture the cinematic quality of early '80s post-punk and new wave as effectively Oklahoma garage rock outfit Broncho. The savvy trio combines fuzzy guitars, sing-along choruses, and minimal yet driving drumming to arrive at a sound that's both nostalgic and timeless, paying homage to acts like Iggy Pop, The Ramones, and Modern English while still leaving their own indelible mark. Irresistibly catchy songs like "Class Historian" and "I Don't Really Want to Be Social" bridle with youthful energy, and the band treats them accordingly at their live shows with punchy performances that always get fans amped-up. Even 80's icon Billy Idol has taken note of Broncho's retro-meets-modern sound and impressive live chops  -- he tapped the band for his 2015 tour, building excitement among ticket buyers for another round of electrifying performances from the rising young rockers.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Broncho began in Oklahoma in as the studio project of singer and guitarist Ryan Lindsey, who also plays keyboard in the Norman, OK-based indie rock group Starlight Mints. In early 2010 Lindsey assembled a band to record several early demos, and the lineup stuck -- Broncho made its performance debut in Tulsa later that year with a blistering 15-minute set of punk-influenced garage tunes. In 2011 the band released its debut album Can't Get Past the Lips, a critically acclaimed record that led to extensive touring across the US. Their label went bankrupt in 2013 but the band continued to write and record, and in early 2014 they got a huge break when Lena Dunham used their song "It's On" for the end title sequence of the Season 3 premiere of her show GIRLS. The resulting popularity boost arrived just in time for their sophomore effort, 2014's Just Enough Hip To Be Woman, a high-energy collection of compact power-pop tunes that critics hailed as one of the year's finest rock albums. A rising young act known for their adrenaline-filled live shows, Broncho has given fans a great reason to show up early for Billy Idol's 2015 North American tour.
