About

C. Tangana on Tour

Spanish singer, rapper, and songwriter C. Tangana blends hints of tango, rock and Spanish copla with modern EDM and hip-hop to bring fans a refreshingly unique sound. By mixing the traditional sounds of his native Spain with current-day electronic and trap rhythms, C. Tangana takes listeners on a journey through his rich musical heritage. On tracks like "Demasiadas Mujeres," Spanish horns build an old-world texture before bright synths, rap lyrics and a club beat bring the vibe back to the modern day. Don't miss out on tickets to see C. Tangana performing hits from his new album El Madrileño on the 2022 Sin Cantar Ni Afinar LATAM Tour.

C. Tangana Live in Concert

Antón Álvarez Alfaro was born in 1990 in Madrid, Spain. It wasn't until he attended graduate school that he began creating music. Alfaro had never recorded in a studio, but he explained that he felt the popular music of the time wasn't enough for him. Taking early influence from the Beastie Boys and traditional Spanish folk tunes, he began making the music he'd listened to his whole life. He started as both a solo artist and a founding member of the Agorazein crew with his friends Sticky M.A., Jerv.agz, Fabianni and I-Ace. Alfaro initially performed under the name Crema in graduate school in 2005. His first EP, Él Es Crema, received little recognition, but his subsequent releases of Madrid Files and Septiembre gained popularity with club DJs and local critics. After parting with Agorazein, Alfaro released the 2012 album LOVE'S as C. Tangana and manifested the signature sound that fans are familiar with today. In 2016, Tangana released "Antes de Morirme" with his then-girlfriend and rising flamenco sensation Rosalía. The track became an international summer anthem, and the recognition landed him a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment. He was invited to perform at the LOS40 Music Awards 2017, where he was awarded Best New Artist of the Year. The same year, C. Tangana released his first full-length studio album for Sony, . In 2018, he received two Latin Grammy Awards for contributing to eight songs on Rosalía's album El Mal Querer. C. Tangana was nominated for five additional Grammys in 2021, most for that year's release of his wildly successful album El Madrileño. He took home two Grammys for the album and became the first Spanish artist to reach No. 1 on the global new albums list.
