About

On their earthy, jubilant new album, the Columbus, Ohio, band Caamp examine those in-between days that make up a life--not the best or most eventful days, certainly not the worst or most tragic, but those full of small pleasures and forgotten disappointments. Taylor Meier, the group's singer and primary songwriter, came up with the phrase Lavender Days to describe them--a phrase that struck him out of the blue, "like a coconut out of the sky," he says with a laugh. Why lavender? "It's nostalgic. It can remind you of your grandmother's perfume or maybe the air freshener in your mom's car. It can summon up all of these incredible memories and transport you to those in-between days, which I think everybody remembers with more clarity than the big events."

Caamp have been writing and singing about those lavender days--in tender love songs tinged with melancholy and determination--ever since Meier played his first notes with bandmate Evan Westfall more than a decade ago. They met as students at Ohio University in Athens, playing local coffeehouses and growing more committed to this extracurricular project. With the addition of Matt Vinson on bass and Joseph Kavalec on keyboards, they built up a grassroots following well beyond the Buckeye State based on the inventiveness of Meier's songwriting, the exuberance of their live performances, and their tireless dedication to touring as much as possible.

From their self-titled 2016 debut album to their most recent releases of By and By in 2019 to Live From Newport Music Hall, "Fall, Fall, Fall", and "Officer of Love" in 2020 the band has amassed over 590 million streams globally as well as achieved multiple #1's at AAA radio. The band has headlined sold out shows and performed at major festivals around the world including Firefly, Shaky Knees, Forecastle, Outside Lands, Austin City Limits, Great Escape and many more. They have also performed on national TV

Their new album Lavender Days will be released via Mom + Pop records on June 24th.

    AMAZING!

    by L on 2022-07-21Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Venue was beautiful! Caamp was unreal! Only wished their set up on stage was a little further back as it was really hard for us higher up to see (and sometimes not possible). But still super awesome experience !

    Caamp is a crowd pleaser

by Earthsguide on 2022-07-21Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Great sound, great energy and mostly all the hits. They appeared overwhelmed by the fact that the Vancouver fans would try to out sing them and the crowd refused to sit down . The endless loud applause made them pause and appreciate their love more than once. I wish the new album had as much punch as the previous ones but growing pains maybe for this extremely catchy, talented band

    Good but could’ve been better.

by A guy on 2022-07-21Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Sound wasn’t great at first but thankfully they fixed it a few songs in. Not a whole lot of energy from the band but the crowd was giving them standing ovations and singing back to them, felt like they could’ve reciprocated that. The drummer and pianist looked like they were really bored. Played for an hour and 45 minutes, so they got through most of their hits as well as the entire lavender album.

    Fantastic Show

by Brody on 2022-07-21Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Caamp put on a fantastic show. Crowd was into it and the energy was amazing. They are great performers and the Orpheum was a great venue for this show. Crowd singing along to the songs and a great little surprise at the end with a little improve a few tracks not found on any of their albums. Can’t wait for them to come back!

by Liv on 2019-12-06The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I have been in love with Caamp and their music since I discovered them 3 years ago, music doesn't get much more real than this! This was the second time i've seen them live and it never ceases to amazing me just how incredible of performers they are. I think everyone should hear Caamp's music and the beautiful messages they share through song! I would highly recommend both listening to them and seeing they live! Something about their music just makes you wanna smile and dance, love these guys!!

    disappointing sound quality

by Wogs62 on 2019-12-06The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

We were a party of 4 who really love Caamp. We travelled hours with much excitement, bought all the LP’s onsite (even though we have the CD’s) only to be extremely disappointed in the sound quality of the vocals. You could not make out the lyric for Caamp or the opening act Savanah. We thought initially it could be our location but we moved around the venue only to find out vocals were muffled everywhere. A little more audience interaction wouldn’t hurt either.
