Calgary Wranglers History
The Calgary Wranglers are a professional hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Wranglers trace their founding back to the Maine Mariners in 1977, but after several moves throughout the years, the Stockton Heat relocated to Calgary and were renamed the Calgary Wranglers ahead of the 2022–2023 AHL season. The name change itself was notable for reviving the same moniker as the former local Western Hockey League team, who played in Calgary from 1977 to 1987. In their inaugural AHL season, the Wranglers led the league in wins and regular season points, the latter of which earned the team the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy.

Calgary Wranglers at Scotiabank Saddledome
The Calgary Wranglers moved into downtown Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome following the team’s relocation to Stampede City in 2022. Despite its relatively new occupants, the Scotiabank Saddledome is no stranger to hockey, having hosted the NHL’s Calgary Flames since its opening in 1983 as well as the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen since 1995. The 19,280-seat arena also accommodated the Wranglers’ predecessor, the Stockton Heat, in 2021 prior to the team’s move.

Enjoyed the game and the App, nice to have everything go as expected without any glitches.
I have been to a few wranglers games now and I am so proud of them My only complaint is that the kids behind us were kicking our seats and ended up spilling pop on us And hitting us in the head with their pin pom
A very good experience at the Dome, line ups went fast, they had adequate concessions open, Great game too. The disaster otuside with the Green line construction as well as the new BMO center are worrisome, I wish they would consider the fans experience above the ease of construction.
We wanted entertainment … We got entertained!!! Now we want more…
Loved how involved you are in the game and how the ticket prices are all the same, it’s really nice as a college student to experience a game like this! Honestly way better than Flames Games!
Fast, energetic, talented, athletes. Beer is to expensive unless you get the happy hour $5.99!
Fun to watch future prospects. It’s great hockey at a bargain. You can get seats close that you could not afford at a Flames game. They had upper bowl closed to bring fans closer to the action. Need a few more fans to get the atmosphere going but they are trying hard. Definitely check this out!
Great hockey in a great building. Seeing the stars of tomorrow for around $20 is hard to beat. I’ll be going again.
Great prices, amazing atmosphere. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Great experience
2 for 1 Tuesday to watch an amazing Calgary Wranglers team. It doesn’t get any better. I will be back for the playoff run!
Great staff, great game and lots of fun between periods - a fantastic night !
Awesome hockey. Great seats at a good price. Very cool to sit in club seats that are usually 400 plus for an nhl game for under 35 bucks. My son loved it and didn’t break the bank.
Great experiance and great hockey! The best value for a family and a great time out!
We sat right by the Wranglers bench and had posters. The team interacted with us and ours boys loved it! We’d definitely go again!
We were visitors from the UK wanting to experience some local sports and it was amazing, the pricing for NHL just was a bit too much but these guys still play some serious hockey, we were glad we chose the Wranglers instead of stretching to the NHL prices as it was much more fun and felt more exclusive! Still plenty of fans even though it was only the lower tier. Food and beverages not overly priced either, Happy Hour on drinks is just before the game so get double parked before it starts! Staff very friendly, and toilets clean and spacious. The best bit was that the staff hold spectators at the entry points whilst the game is active which we dont get in the UK, made the whole thing so much more enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to come back again.
The 6pm start to the Wednesday game makes it great opportunity to bring children. It has all the accouterments of a Flames game without the hassle of a crowded arena. $6 burgers before the game are a grest way to start the evening. Watch tomorrow's stars now.
Oh the noise, noise, noise.....(direct from the Grinch). The endless overly loud music and PA chatter between play, especially in a nearly empty building (or is that why the building is nearly empty), was too much. I just want to watch skilled people play the game and maybe discuss it with my partner. Rethink the whole "immersive entertainment experience" that the marketing gurus tell you it should be. Its not WWF.
Good value . Good entertainment for family . Was a good evening out
Went with a friend and her kids and we all had a great time!
It was my first professional hockey game, it was really fun to watch.
