  • Good show, but SO short

    by justagirl26 on 2012-09-12Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

The awards show was good, but WAY too short. At $90/ticket, I would have expected at least 3 hours, but I was in my car, driving away less than 2 hours after it started. Seriously, I'm disappointed that it was so short. I've been to lots of concerts for less money, and they were over 3 hours long. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend, simply because of that. If you like throwing your money away though, then go.

  • CCMA's much better on TV

    by CRF250R on 2012-09-12Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 1 out of 5

The magic of TV is true. The event was pretty forgetful. The sound was very quite for the performance and presentation of awards. The stages were just plain black panted plywood. The stars sat on fold out chairs, when we first sat down we didn't even know they stars were there. The crowd was not full and the lights were pretty dull. Watching the jumbo screen, you could see how it looked on TV and it looked so nice, but not from our view.

  • ccma awards

by leen on 2011-09-21Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

i was a little dissapointed in the set up of the red carpet if it had been roped and along the front of the building more could see , also anyone doing announcing was facing the stage so most of us seen the back of there head , a few like terry clark and johnny reed did turn a little but it was no good for taking pictures . they should have had a camera on them so we could see the faces on the screen , i will think twice before attending another one

  • CCMA's - An Amazing Experience

    by JBG01 on 2011-09-20Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

This is the first time we have ever been to an award show and had a wonderful experience starting with "The Red Carpet". Would have liked to have seen the Red Carpet a bit longer area as it was very crowded with fans pushing into the Radio and TV Hosts covering the show. Felt very bad for the hosts who were trying to interview the celebs. However, I managed to get many autographs and photographs. The show itself was very well done. You sure get an appreciation what goes on behind the scene when you are at a live telecast compared to what you see on TV. The celebs individual performances were very well done. The awards given, I believe, were right on the mark. The fans seemed to enjoy themselves and were very well behaved. It is very different than going to a concert to see one headliner play. I give thumbs up to Copps Coliseum for putting on a very well executed award show in Hamilton. I hope Hamilton gets to prove themselves again with more award shows in coming years. It is something everyone should see once in their lifetime. Kudos again for a fabulous evening!!!!!!

  • Awards were awesome !!

    by puppy71 on 2011-09-18Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

The Awards show was once again great and lots of fun. The only thing i did not like is how it was set up this year we got to see the backside of alot of artists as the one stage was set up in the middle of the crowd that was the only downfall. Rest was great !!

  • What an amazing experience!

by mackijo on 2011-09-15Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I am so proud of our Canadian country music singers!! Standing at the red carpet for 2 hours was worth every minute. Everyone who came through was sooo friendly and accommodating in signing autographs and posing for pictures. The awards show was fabulous...moved along quickly with the best singing/songs ever!! The only negative thing is that the sound when people were talking (emcee/acceptance speeches) was not good where we were sitting. Other than that, I completely enjoyed my day.

  • CCMA 2011 Hamilton

by bikerjoan on 2011-09-14Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

This was our first experience at an award show, WOW it was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainers. It was a live show so there were breaks for commercials that gave everyone time to visit the concessions or washrooms. My only complaint is that Cobbs Collisium only had one large screen and it didn't seem to be working during the musical performances in the first part of the show. I was just in Chicago at the United Center for the Oprah show and there were LARGE screen every place you looked.

It was a great night to honour and put the spotlight on Canada's country artists. These folks are just as talented as their american counterparts and offer a great deal of entertainment for all of us. It's unfortunate they don't reap the same financial rewards and level of stardom as their peers in the U.S. but over the last twenty five years things have improved. There are many times when I'm travelling in the U.S. and tune in to a local country music station and low and behold, I hear a Canadian artist being played. That was difficult to experience several years back. But, now with the talent of Johnny Reid, Terry Clark, Dean Brody and the list goes on, Americans are finding that Nashville is not the centre of the universe when it comes to the world of country music. Our country artists spend many days on the road and give up so much personally when it comes to family life in order to developed their skills and hone their craft. The Canadian Country Music Awards is a much needed event. It allows all us to sit back and see what great and rich talent we have in Canada. I'm so glad I made a point of attending this year's awards.

We had a great evening, everything went like clockwork. It was really great to see so many stars at one event.

  • by RDFan on 2011-09-14Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Overall I enjoyed the event, however even though I purchased tickets the moment they went on sale I was dissapointed to be sitting so that I caught everyone's back on the small round stage. I don't remember seeing the setup of the stages in the original seating plan or I would probably have chosen different seats. If I had wanted to see everything on the big screen I would have stayed home and watched it on television.

by Countryrocker on 2011-09-14Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show! Great entertainment. Well organized and loved how we could walk onto the floor during the commercial breaks to the Country Artists sitting in their seats and talk to them/get their autograph/photo. AWESOME!

  • Great Canadian Show!

by bquigley on 2011-09-14Copps Coliseum - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

We had excellent seats, and full view of all the stars. As a huge Johnny Reid fan, I was thrilled to witness him take home so many deserving awards. First class act all around.

Too short and overpriced for the venue as the audience for a TV show.
