About

Can you imagine the routine 1970's Cheech and Chong would have made of current America, what with marijuana decriminalized in a dozen states and legal for adults in a couple?  The fact is, the inspired combination of East L.A.'s Richard "Cheech" Marin and Canadian Tommy Chong has always been ahead of its time, above and beyond their views on cannabis. Their legendary records-- not to mention movies like Up in Smoke and 2012's Cheech & Chong's Animated Movie-- helped pave the way to the absurdist slice of life comedy of everyone from Seth Rogen to Aziz Anasri.

The duo broke up bitterly during the mid '80's and took different paths, with Marin finding success as an actor in movies like Tin Cup and on TV's Nash Bridges, and Chong solidifying his place as both a comedic actor on "That 70's Shows" and as a marijuana activist. When they joined forces in 2008 and began touring againÑ Cheech had gone through a divorce, and Chong had just gotten out of prisonÑtheir concerts teemed with unbridled joy of two lovers reunited, and there was an immediate sense that the two were going to stick. At this point, Cheech & Chong have found their rhythm together, and ticket holders can expect both throwbacks to the pair's colorful past and surprises that show them to be as ready to push the cultural envelope now as they were in the 1970's.

I've always love cheech and chong in all their movies and stage performances but i never seen them live in person, this show could only be summed up in one word, "WOW!!!" they have aged but that did not affect their performance, i certainly recommend that if your a fan or not or just need a good laugh this the show for you. my husband and i certainly agree this is the performance to go see.

can we get our money back if we write a review?

by again on 2010-03-21River Cree Resort & Casino - Edmonton

Cheech and Chong could have made an effort to provide an entertaining evening. They don't have to be that creative. They could just reprise more of their old "bits". They have a lot of material to draw from; why not do it? Lots of comedians tour just repeating the material on their albums. We felt they did the minimum rather than really going all out to entertain us. Age cannot be an excuse. Maybe they just don't care about quality and just need the money. Leonard Cohen brought world class musicians and worked his butt off to entertain. The Venue was awful. Cramped uncomfortable seats; worse than a school gymnasium plus no air.

    cheech and chong were great

by pyicat on 2010-03-21River Cree Resort & Casino - Edmonton

Worth the money, a little slow at times but hey after 40 years aren't we all. Opening DJ was awful though, crappy rap spins were not all appropriate for the age group at this event and we weren't the only one who thought so.

I thought Cheech & Chong were quite funny, although Chong's wife seemed to take a bigger part of the act than necessary. The venue wasn't the best, the seats were uncomfortable, the music played before the show started was loud and inappropriate for the crowd.

    Cheech & Chong were awesome

by Davesnothere on 2010-02-02TCU Place - Saskatoon

I really enjoyed the show. Although I am not a pot smoker, I was rather surprised by the amount of pot and cigarettes being smoked inside the auditorium. I didn't find it offensive, but I am sure others did. I know that C & C are all about smoking pot, however, where is the respect of our fellow Saskatonians...what ever happened to 0 tolerance for smoking in public buildings.....thanks for the great show!

    Cheech and Chong Deliver!

    by Bucky181 on 2010-02-01TCU Place - Saskatoon

Funny guys of course. You could tell it was the beginning of a new tour but we didn't care if it didn't flow perfectly...it's Cheech and Chong Man! We had a great time and it brought back memories for sure. I could have listened to more. My favorite piece was when Cheech came out in the pink tutu and ears - I always roar when I see it in the movie so seeing it live was hilarious of course. All in all it was a very fun evening out!

These guys were great. Sorry, but they need to lose the wife Things did not flow smoothly, she kept coming out and saying " I'm going to bring these guys back out". For me, she needed to not have ever been there... but, my husband says...she was incredible....I'm pretty sure many men felt the same..... amazing how much pot was smoked throughtout the show....pretty cheap high for many of us! Good stuff...

It was an excellent show!!! It would have been only fair if, a person could have been able to drink alcohol in the seats. especially that there was a lot of people enjoying some herb there. we felt left out!!!!

A Fun Evening with Timeless Performers

by Goldo on 2010-01-31TCU Place - Saskatoon

Cheech and Chong put on a great show and I had a lot of fun! This wasn't the funniest show I've ever seen in the world, Chong even appologised at one point for the show being 'brand-new', but all in all I had a great time. Surprisingly, the best parts of the show were the stand-up routines that Cheech and Chong each did by themselves, frankly I was expecting more duo Comedy sketches like the ones that made them famous, but still, like I said, all was funny and grand. (And despite Saskatchewan's anti-smoking laws, Centennial Auditorium [I will never call it TCU Place] got REALLY smokey inside...and it smelled kinda funny...but no one seemed to mind...)

    Good Variety Show

by GoldDustWoman on 2010-01-31TCU Place - Saskatoon

Cheech and Chong are naturally funny, and the show was for a good purpose (getting it legal.) I found their improvisation to be funnier than ther skits, however.

    met expectations

by seenit on 2010-01-31TCU Place - Saskatoon

I went in knowing it would be a slower show than what they put out in the 70's/80's. Tommy really surprised me with his stand up segments. It was well worth it to say i saw them live!! Tommy's wife provided some very nice eye candy and decent opening and filler material during the show. If you go to see them live, don't watch a bunch of old stuff before you go!!!

    Funny!!

    by THC4ME on 2010-01-31TCU Place - Saskatoon

It was a funny show...It really brings you back to your teenage years! I was hoping for MORE songs....like Cocaine Katey..but for what they did..it was awesome! It was also nice to see that they weren't gouging the public with their t shirt sales..etc. Prices were reasonable! Nice hats!

by Dazed on 2010-01-31TCU Place - Saskatoon

Great to see these two on stage! Laughed my butt off all night! Don't miss this duo before they call it quits for good. Mrs. Chong was also hilarious! I wish there would have been an encore of some kind but everyone just got up and left. Oh well, what do you expect from a bunch of stoners though! Awesome time and well worth the bucks!!!

Awesome - could be awesomer tho!!

by BigBones on 2010-01-31TCU Place - Saskatoon

C and C were great last night - but a little too huckster and not enough old skits. I was hoping for more of the old stuff from the records i grew up listening to - but what i saw and heard - i liked! Chong is hilarious!
