This is the 3rd time we have been to the Cirque and I'm sorry to say we left at the intermission of Alegria. It did not have nearly the punch of the first 2. The clown bits were far, far too long. We will not be back to see the Cirque after having been dedicated fans for years.
Alegria was visually stunning, exciting performances with incredible gymnastic displays and choreography. Beautiful, exotic and unique costuming. Great comic relief from adorable clowns and amazing crystal clear vocals. Loved the random interchanges from one performance to the next, with intersecting band members and clowns.
It was an amazing show!! Displaying people of all different and amazing talents. From singing and comedy to feats of strenth and endurance. Always entertaining. However if you don't want to miss a thing don't sit as close as we did sometimes it was hard to see it. I actually suggest sitting in the bleachers.
The entire show was engaging and continuously moving! The cast were fabulous - the main singer had a beautiful voice!!! I loved everything!
The acrobats were, as usual, spectacular. I found the stage setting a bit dark and not as colourful as other Cirque shows.
Absolutely fabulous! Amazing evening filled with laughter, intrigue, awe and amazement. Incredible music, unbelievable talented musicians and vocalists and overall an evening of creative sensory overload. Will definitely attend future shows. Only thing to really say is WOW!!!!!
I've seen my fair share of cirque performances and although it wouldn't be fair to compare this show to the Vegas shows, it still did not impress me and some of the clown acts were waaay too long and boring. Definitley not enough acrobatics, which is unusual for Cirque shows. I had just seen Kooza in Vancouver and Saltimbanco here in Kamloops the year before and they were way better. I don't know if this was part of it, but the venue was TERRIBLE. The ATM machine was super loud and as people took out cash during the performance, every button beeped. In the middle of the act, the popcorn machines started going off and those things are LOUD!!! And worst of all, the ushers standing behind us (we were in the last row) were chatting about their personal lives and gossiping through out the show and I finally had to tell them to keep it down. If I hadn't paid so much for it, I'd have left after the first act.
It would have been nice to know alittle bit about the story about Alegria I have seen a vegas show (LOVE) and it was spectular So Alegria wasn't LOVE I did invite my husaband and 2 other friends and they were all really impressed with the show and would have given it a 5 am sure. A little to much clown time so it became a little dedious
For people in Kamloops to have the opportunity to see such grace and professionalism was outstanding, highly recommend to any age, amazing performances and costumes. Not quite to Las Vegas standards, but what is.
The show was outstanding! I would go again next year! This show was definitely worth the drive to Kamloops to see these amazing artists.
Once again Cirque does not disappoint. The arena show is as spectacular as the larger shows in Las Vegas. Cannot wait for the next Cirque du Soleil to perform here in Kamloops.
This was the best show I had ever seen. I highly recommend this show to all ages (youngster and old alike). The incredible acts are unbelievable - you still can't believe your eyes. We are so lucky to have Cirque Du Soleil in Canada. Everything was amazing - the singing - the acrobatics - the customes - the clowns etc. The music was superb.
I would like to urge anyone seeing this performance to get a seat that you can see straight onto the stage. The reason I say this is because although normally Cirque Du Soleil plays to the entire audience this performance is directed towards the front. If you have gone to Vegas you will be disappointed.
The ability of the orchestra to be so precise when the performers actions depended on such accuracy. So much of the action is predicated on this and the acrobatics were breathtaking. Costumes were great and those clowns were so talented too. The audience partipation was worked into the script very well. The show is a great example of teamwork and precision plus unbelievable talent.
For me this was a once in a lifetime experience, it was absolutely amazing. The music was fantastic. I would definitely recommend seeing this production.
I have seen other cirque du Soleil shows and what I liked the most about this one is the singer that we see often and hear very well. She had a beautiful voice. I always enjoy the stage equipment; bridges, platforms etc. Very ingenious and creative. I believe much of the props are custom made. Costumes and make up are always detailed and amazing with their originality. However, sometimes it is difficult to understand the story behind the show. Also because of the cost of the tickets, many people cannot afford to see any of the shows. Another comment about this one; although I thought the two clowns were the funniest I ve ever seen in the 5 shows I ve attended, their number seem to be longer than usual or longer than necessary. I would personally prefer to see more skill numbers than skits (which I felt were filling time). Less costly to produce? Overall, amazing as usual, full of surprises and rehearsed with the smallest details in mind. Sugg: for answering surveys or just for being part of the Cirque Fan Club... it would be nice to receive % off presentations (and not only for certain nights..) or % off merchandise... Thanks and keep it up!
I saw Allegria as it travelled through our small town. This is the third Cirque I have seen. It was what to be expected. Funny clowns, jumping acrobats, contortionists, weird costumes, beautiful music and flying trapese. There were a couple of scenes that dragged on, but for the most part it was good. The sets were neat and the condition of the acrobats were awesome. Overall I would say it was a great performance.
Alegria is the 3rd Cirque du Soleil performance that I have had the pleasure of attending. As usual the show was fantastic!. My family & I drove 11 hours to attend this event and were expecting an outstanding performance and Cirque did not disappoint us!! I most certainly would & already have recommended this show to a family member. Please keep sharing your talents for all to enjoy - your shows always bring a smile and a sense of awe.
This show was a lot of fun, with many great moments. Unlike Saltimbanco, though, it didn't have a 'storyline', which I find I missed. It was more like a trip to the circus. That was the only reason I gave a four star rating. It would have been 4.75, but there isn't such a thing. All the acts and the singers were first rate. My husband worked the show for the whole 5 days, and he saw more and more each of the eight times he saw it. I would highly recommend it to families, but even adults were cheering and laughing like kids. Every detail, including the costumes, are perfect every time.
Phenomenal event. Cirque Du Soleil really knows how to put on a show. From beautiful music, crazy stunts, to incredibly detailed costumes, and fun entertainment (even before the event starts), this performance is one I will never forget. I'm looking forward to seeing another performance and seeing if they can top Alegria.
