This is the 5th show I have seen from Cirque. It always leaves me wanting more. Arena settings are not the same as Vegas but the way Cirque puts everything together, it's absolutely phenomenal. The shows have the same basic acrobatics, clowns, etc, but there's something different in every one that keeps you wanting more and more.
So sorry to report that this was not my favourite cirque de soleil. Have seen two others previously which I enjoyed MUCH better. Allegria spent too much time on the clown events and not enough other content. The trapeze artists were amazing; the fire-flame-throwers were awesome! The two young girls who twisted and contorted were phenomenal. The fellow who was jumping on the narrow board was fantastic. The groups of 8 trapeze men were incredible. I also found that the portion with the train and wind etc was tooo long and boring; I didn't like the dark side of this production. Having said that, it was a good show; maybe I just expected more because of others that I have seen. The man who did the long "sheets" really did very little compared to so many other artists that I have seen on them.
It was amazing for children and adults alike. As we watched with amazement at all the athleticism, we also laughed uncontrollably to the clowns. The audience interaction was amusing. And the music was beautiful.
The event was exciting a few times, mildly entertaining at other times and very boring half the time. There was no story line that any of us could follow, random events happened all the time that made no sense. Worst of all was the transition clowns, rather than being about 3 minutes they were about 10-15 minutes each time, and only entertained the small children (who did laugh out loud). It's like they have about 45 minutes of amazing stuff but need to make it 2 hours to justify the cost. You would do much better to spend this kind of money on a music concert or broadway play like the Lion King. If it were about $25 then it would be priced right.
I thought it had some very special moments but overall I was not "Wow'd" ... the pace was slow ... costumes too white .... although the clowns were lovely they covered too much time / floor space ... I was disappointed but that is because I have seen other Cirque Du Soleil performances. Thank you for asking.
Enthralled, captivated, awestruck, and thoroughly entertained! Waiting for the next show with bated breath!! A big Thank You to the performers who obviously sacrifice SO much to make this their life!
We had to leave at the intermission due to the onslaught of kerosene fumes, other smoke for special effects, then the enormous wind they added for effect to blow fake snow at 100mph into the audience. This show needed to come with a huge warning that if anyone suffers from asthma or any other conditon for sensitivies they need to be prepared with masks and possibly oxygen. A huge expensive disappointment. There were some segments worth seeing but I recommend just getting the DVD and saving your money.
It's Cirque du Soleil, of course it was great. Stunning costumes, a wee girl with a huge voice. It was our second attendance to a Cirque show and I'm not sure whether the first one we saw was just that much better ( 5 stars) or was Allegria a little... less? The acts were just as awe inspiring but it felt as if ... say you had a show like Allegria, and in the middle of your tour, two of your most important acts left. What would you do? You'd extend the time of each act to fill in the space. That's what this show felt like. An act would come out, do their schtick. reach a crescendo, much applause etc, then...do it again. Every act. I would go to another Cirque show but I wouldn't kill myself to do so.
I was so impressed by this performance. The performance and performers we all top notch and everything went off flawlessly. The music, the costumes and the acts were all mesmerizing! I couldnt get enough...could have watched it all over again as soon as it ended... I will now go to EVERY Cirque du soleil show that comes through town!!
This show was an amazing experience ... the music, the set, the costumes, the aura ... all amazing. The performances were outstanding!
we were ages from 4 to over sixly and all were swept away into the unforgettable, magical cirque du soleil: alegria! If they come again we will see them again and again. thank you so much !
We found the show a bit slow to start, the beginning clowns and characters were a bit random and odd. But once the performers began their incredible displays of balancing, strength, flexibility and acrobatics we were transfixed. The clown act was very entertaining, although a bit long. There was an unfortunate injury that cut the high swing act short. We were hoping for an announcement of some kind indicating whether the performers were ok but none was made. This was my second opportunity to see a Cirque Du Soleil performance and I am definitely hooked!
There was far too much time devoted to the clowns and their acts, which were not really that entertaining. The gymnasts and trapeze acts were excellent, as were the solo performances, but on the whole there was a way too much wasted time.
At my age I thought that I had seen most acts or one similar to others I had seen. Low and behold something new and exciting and the man in the ring was extraodinary while the rest was just amazing
I loved it. A little difficult to see, seats on the floor .
The show Alegria was absolutely amazing and the talent was breath taking. I would absolutely recommend this show to everyone. Our venue was at Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops which was great as it seemed more intimate as all the seating was close enough to view the show. I look forward to seeing another of the Cirque Du Soleil shows.
Very good, everything I expected from a cirque show.
From start to finish the show was very entertaining. We enjoyed every minute of it. The costumes were incredible! We would recommend it to all of our friends and family and we look forward to seeing another show in the near future.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the show. It started slowly, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but as the acts started, I became more involved and immersed into the show. The individual acts themselves were fantastic and incredibly athletic. I loved watching the trampoline routine and was just amazed at how high they bounced. But all the other acts were just as good! The changing of the scenes/props was choreographed so precisely that I wasn't aware this was only a set-up to the act. Every part of the show was designed to give the audience a good performance regardless of what was done on stage. The clowns did a superb job of gathering the audience focus and using this to draw attention away from the stage while props were prepared. The flow was fluid from act to act with no obvious interruptions. I definitely plan on attending another Cirque du Soleil performance whenever I can.
