Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

  • Wonderful Evening

by Jo on 2019-09-12National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

This was a gift for my Mom and Dad, i got to see it in toronto with my sister in law and thought my mom and dad would love it for their 55th wedding anniversary. I was not disappointed they loved it the only complaint was about the people around them being very loud. But the Play itself 5 stars

This show was wonderful! Presented the true story in a fun, fast moving style without sugar-coating the tragic events. Lots of laughter and tears. All the performers were excellent.

  • Foot stomping good time

The beginning of the performance grabbed our attention and kept it throughout. The songs were upbeat and lifted spirits. The jokes were well timed and delivered on point.

  • Uplifting

Sometimes the hype exceeds the reality. Not in this case. It far exceeded my high expectations. The actors playing the different roles and the minimalist set were unique and done so well. There was a range of emotions but the band playing at the end made for a joyous departure from the theatre. Kudos to everyone involved in this production. Can't wait to see it again.

  • Must see at least once in your lifetime!

by Alainlabrador on 2019-09-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

We all know and remember that story, but this is from a Canadian and very human perspective. The tempo of this musical is at so upbeat, the actors are so versatile, the music is supporting the story so well that time flies very quickly watching that show (be aware, there are no intermission!). We have seen on TV a lots of stories about those events, but never told this way about people caught in the middle. Do yourself a favor and go see that show, you won't be sorry!

  • EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE!

by Caroline on 2019-09-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

An absolutely fabulous portrayal of the many issues and opportunities that came from the experiences of so many affected people. From the passengers on the flights to the residents of the community to all the people who helped to ease the situation. Truly an exceptional experience to share in a musical and moving performance!

I've seen a lot of Broadway shows and this one is just so unique. What an incredible story about humanity. Energizing, thought provoking, and a true testament to the wonderful people of Gander NFLD. Great music! Everyone must see this show! 10/10

  • Excellent from start to Finish

by Momof1 on 2019-09-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

This show grabs you from the second it starts and never lets you go. It is mesmerizing. I could watch it again and again. The way they tell the story of Gander during 9/11 is amazing. The actors change characters and yet you know exactly who they are playing. The story line makes you laugh and cry. It makes me proud to be Canadian. I didn’t want the show to end.

  • Blown AWAY

by Lyra on 2019-09-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved everything about the show. I have 60+ years in the theatre and the singing, acting and choreography were perfect for the story. I was very emotional and proud to be a Canadian. Only wish that I had had better seats but that is nit the show’s problem.

  • Blown away

by DeeDee on 2019-09-10National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

When this show ended to thunderous applause I was stunned by how few actors were actually on stage. Through the course of the performance it felt like we had met a cast of a 100 characters or more. The singing was moving and the choreography timed with razor sharp precision. I laughed, I cried, I was moved by the stories. I would see it again.

Proof that less is more! This production is bare bones on musicians, set design and props yet the result is an award winning production, proving that the talent and writing is what makes a winner!
