This was - hands down - the best live play viewing experience I've ever had....and I've seen a few. Excellent script writing and exceptional delivery by the cast. I was particularly blown away by d'bi. young anitafrika's performance - great attention to detail and spot-on portrayal/incorporation of cultural nuances in speech, expression and body language. Amazing!
This play was epic today as it was 20 years ago and if they wait another 20, I hope I am able to see it again. It was like i watched it for the first time the emotions were still the same if not better. Thank You Trey Anthony
Outstanding performances by all of the cast members. I had watched the TV series but my two friends were new to Da Kink, and they loved the show. It touched on some very serious social issues and the treatment of these issues was handled with care. Some great laugh-out-loud moments. Highly recommend!
Seen this play 20 years ago plus played a role in high school. So to see it 20 years later was magical.
I did not have the opportunity to enjoy this show as there was a storm spanning from Mexico to James Bay. The theatre refused refunds despite the weather. I chose not to join the 100+ vehicle crash on the highway and skipped the show
Better that the T.V show. I was worried how I would be able to connect with the characters but I found the play to be true to life.
Every character story were accurate! We got so emotional during the entire show! Great job to all the ladies that were able to showcase how black women feel
Bluma needs to ensure the audience is respectful of what is occurring and where they are. The number of people with ringing phones and lighted phones being checked constantly by about 25% of the audience was very disruptive and disappointing. It’s been years since I had such an experience at a theatre. It’s not ok to be thoughtless and disrespectful like this as a patron. The performance was tarnished for everyone else, including the incredible cast, by so many clueless audience members.
