Very intimate setting. A one man show without the help of a band. Displaying his great vocal and musical talent. He really set up each song beautifully with stories from his past and paragraphs from his book, "I Am My Father's Son". A great way to spend a Saturday evening listening to some of the best timeless classics.
This show was absolutley the best concert that I have ever been to.The venue was intimate and comfortable-Dan Hill was very relaxed and his reading interspersed with his music made it particularly poignant. We have always loved Dan Hill but after this concert we like him even more and can hardly wait to get his new album. We are hoping it will be realesed on vinyl as my husband prefers vinyl.
There was nothing about this night that wasn't incredible. The ambiance in the theatre with the candle lit tables and Dan Hill on stage performing in his jeans and runners with his guitar and the voice and those lyrics. I was moved to tears several times. Dan Hill is the most humble performer I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. It was truly a heartfelt evening made special by the sharing of stories from Dan's life in a very open and honest way. This is one artist where listening to his voice live is better than even on CD.
What a great show. The intimate environment was perfect for Dan Hill's impactful show. Dan Hill's reflection on his life and challenging circumstances plus his elaboration on his involvement with other artists allowed us to see another side to the amazing singer. Thank goodness he is back!!! We have waited a long time for his return. Thank you Dan Hill
Intimate venue at Hamiltom Place was well suited to Dan Hill. He exposes a lot of himself and gives more meanings to his songs. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We're looking forward to his new CD in February.
My husband and I loved the venue. Small room with cocktail tables made it very intimate and it seemed as though he was speaking just to us. I loved the way he comentated each song. It put a completely new spin on his performance. His voice is exactly as I remembered it from his earlier days. His new single with Liz Rodrigues is destined to be a hugh hit. We loved it and she has a fabulous voice.
Dan Hill gave a perfomance last night that I will remember for a long time. His story telling of his songs reasons for being written were excellent. We loved his readings from his biography to introduce each song were excellent. He was accompanied by a wonderful singer for duets off new cd and she could do a solo perfomance her self. The audience responded with silence during his songs and waited for the last notes of his perfomance on each song to applaud and show their appreciation. With no backup instrumentation only his own guitar and piano playing it was the song's words that carried the night showing his superb talent as a song writer and performer. His three standing ovations proved how much tha audiences arppreciated his perfomance for the evening. It was certainly an excellent enviironment for this showat the small venure at the Hamiton Place.
Dan Hill put on a very entertaining show. It was like having him perform in your living room sitting around with friends.He sounded great and his voice was as strong now as it was back in the 70's.I really enjoyed how he interacted with the audience. Hewas honest and candid about his life and music. The Studio at Hamilton Place was a great place to see a show. Good luck on the new album.
What a great venue to feature the talented Dan Hill. I thoroughly enjoyed the personal journey that he took us on as a back drop to his music. It made me appreciate him even more. I haven't seen him perform live for a very long time and this reminded me of what a brilliant song writer and beautiful singer he is.......catch this show!
