Detroit Lions Team History
The Detroit Lions haven't always been the Lions. In 1934, George A. Richards, a radio executive, purchased the Spartans, a team from Portsmouth, Ohio. After the $8,000 purchase (a huge sum at that time), he moved the team to Detroit. In only their second year as the Detroit Lions, the team won the 1935 NFL championship, beating the New York Giants 26-7 at the University of Detroit Stadium.
During the 1950s, the Lions enjoyed some of the most successful seasons in their history, winning three league championships against the Cleveland Browns in 1952, 1953 and 1957. Divisional titles came again in 1991 and 1993.

Detroit Lions at Ford Field
The 65,000-capacity Ford Field consists of 1.85 million square feet and has four levels of suites, a level of club seating, and a ground level designated for concessions and retail. It also has some of the best sight lines of any football stadium in the United States, made available by a design that omits the traditional club and suite levels, thereby lowering the upper level.
In 2017, the Detroit Lions announced a $100 million investment into stadium renovations. Updates to The New Ford Field included a complete overhaul of Ford Field's audio/visual guest experience with new video boards to ensure easy viewing for fans in all corners of the stadium, an upgraded sound system, as well as renovated stadium suites and premium club areas.

The family fest with the Detroit Lions was awesome! Thanks you for having this event. This was my first time at Ford Field and we can’t wait to go back. I took my husband and kids and they all enjoyed the events and photo ops, food and especially watching the practice. I was so impressed the players took the time to sign autographs for the fans. ❤️

Amazing seats at a great facility. So much fun and a very organized event. One of the best stadiums in the NFL with ease of access and nearby attractions and parking. Despite playing really well, it was sad to watch the Officials change the outcome of the game and potentially the season for the NFL by giving a free touchdown to the Texans. If this results in the Texans gaining home field advantage in the playoffs or finishing at #1 this season, this game will be no different than watching Hulk Hogan throw a chair. I'm coming back to the stadium and for the great experience but not because of the new WWE Presents THE NFL Officials game.

Always enjoy the atmosphere at Ford Field. It's a great venue.
The whole experience of visiting Detroit has come lightyears to the Good! We had no trouble finding reasonable parking, people we're friendly, access to Ford Field was good. Ample places to eat and drink local. The Ford Field was truly a wonderful place to see a game. Our seats were wonderful even though we were at the top of the lower bowl near the end zone. I cannot wait to go back. Geting out and back on the highway was no trouble.

We were in lower bowl section 139-end zone seats and would highly recommend them-they were great seats as we could see plays unfold....do not be afraid of buying these types of seats at this indoor stadium-best kept secret for the price.....
Very enjoyable time spent on Thanksgiving Day at Ford Field (Detroit). Would recommend a holiday game to any NFL fan. Well worth going in order to see Aaron Rodgers and Packers increase unbeaten streak after defeating Lions.
