DIRTY LOOPS IN CONCERT:

It's hard to tell who has the most fun at a Dirty Loops concert. Is it the crowd, treated to a groovy set brimming with uniquely arranged pop fusion jams? Or is it the trio onstage, serving up a delicious cocktail of jazz and pop blended with '70s and '80s R&B funk? It's a toss-up, as the Swedish collective ensures their live performances are joyous and unforgettable experiences for everyone. Stellar musicianship takes center stage at the band's shows, which feature drummer Aron Mellergardh's powerhouse percussion skills alongside bassist Henrik Linder's slick bass lines. Helming the show is frontman Jonah Nilsson, whose piercing falsetto and huge range recall legends like Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. The top-notch production and polished arrangements of their recorded songs translate beautifully to the stage, and Dirty Loops continue to stun ticket buyers with note-perfect performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bassist Henrik Linder, drummer Aron Mellergardh, and vocalist/keyboardist Jonah Nilsson formed Dirty Loops in 2008 while attending the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. The trio's big break came when their version of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" racked up a whopping 100,000 views on YouTube in just two months. They followed it up with creative covers of pop songs by Justin Bieber, Adele, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. The viral videos caught the attention of Swedish producer/songwriter Andreas Carlsson, who promptly signed them to a management deal. Producer/songwriter David Foster then signed the group to Universal Music subsidiary Verve Records and brought them on his 2012 Asian tour. The band released their debut album Loopified in 2014, which boasts two covers and 10 original tracks including standout single "Hit Me". Their 2014-2015 Loopified tour is taking them through Europe, the U.S., and Asia, delivering their energetic shows to crowds all over the world.

    Awesome Band and great show

by Arjun Thomas on 2024-03-24The Opera House - Toronto

The show was awesome as expected I've been following this band for a while and finally got to see them live. The only problem was in the beginning for the first few songs the kick drum was so loud that it was drowning out everything else I think the sound engineer finally realized and worked on it halfway through the show The sound is perfect.

    You must go

by Greg on 2024-03-24The Opera House - Toronto

Unbelievably talented. They are simply on another level. If you can make it to their show you owe it to yourself to go. In addition to their music, they are also wonderful human beings who met their fans after the show.

    Horrible Sound

by JP on 2024-03-24The Opera House - Toronto

The band was amazing....but unfortunately we could rarely hear them....all we got were the subs pumping out bass drum.....so sad to not hear what was being played :(

Mind-blowing band with one wee problem

by Paul on 2024-03-24The Opera House - Toronto

Three of the most masterful musicians living right now. Except... The kick-drum was 50% louder than it should've been, drowning out keys, bass and vocals and rattling my guts. All the spectators around us agreed. So odd to see such a next-level band utterly on fire, but with the one huge glitch sabotaging much of the listening experience. Made even more frustrating when you consider how perfectly they mix their sound on videos and MP3. Still, no regrets. Loved every second. Just wish someone would fill in their sound man.

by Rob on 2024-03-24The Opera House - Toronto

Unbelievabley loud. Actually got nausea from the subs...I'll NEVER again see them in a closed indoor venue. SHAME! Great players, great performance otherwise.

Great show! They played so incredibly tight. They were entertaining, and the best part is it wasn't stupidly loud. I brought ear-plugs and didn't use them. Success.

Hands down the best concert I have ever attended

by DirtyLoopsFan on 2014-10-30The Opera House - Toronto

I went to see Dirty Loops with my wife, some friends and some family and had the most amazing experience. We got there early, were at the very front (so close we could touch Henrik and Jonah), and were absolutely amazed by the performance. The three of them are extremely talented and were amazingly interactive with us at the concert. They had a meet and greet after words and we went to get to know them. Each of them are very down to earth and kind. You will not regret this concert! My wife and I are still singing the songs and thinking about the concert and its been 3 days now! I have seen some incredible bands and this show topped them all. A must see for any fan of musicianship and stage presence.

Great concert in a challenging venue

by LoopyFan on 2014-10-30The Opera House - Toronto

Dirty Loops is an awesome band I have been following on YouTube since they first broke. I was so excited to see their debut Toronto concert. The band played all the tunes from their album and I wished for some more extended versions and more variation. The whole concert was only 60 minutes and would have liked if there was an opener. Lighting was pretty bad and the band was hardly front lit. Audio was also struggling with the challenging room but the vocal was audible and the solos sounded great. Overall, I would definitely go and see them again. Dirty Loops will only get better over time and I'm glad I'm a fan from their roots!

    Dirty Loops Kills It

by DeanB on 2014-10-30The Opera House - Toronto

Haven't been to a show with this much energy in a long time. They literally blew the roof of the Opera House in Toronto. Love this band and so happy to be able to see their first North American Tour.
