    Great show!

    by Leslie101 on 2009-11-26Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

I went with my daughter and her 2 friends with their moms. We were there right at 6:30 pm when the doors opened and went to see the pre-show. I expected to see only the princess dresses but was pleasantly surprised to see 2 princesses all dressed up on stage. We took pictures of the girls with the princess and looked at the other dresses with accessories - Ariel, Snow White, etc. The girls enjoyed it. The show then started with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofey. Mater came out first from Cars, then all the other character leading up to LIghting McQueen. The kids were all excited when the cars came out but honestly, cars can't really do much but drive around so it got a bit slow. I did love the "Life is a Highway" song. The Cars segment was only about 10 minutes. Ariel was next and it was fantastic. All the great songs and the skating was great! The stage was really well done. We got to see Sebastian, the Sea Witch, and Eric. Song: "Under the Sea" "Part of Your World" "Kiss the Girl" , etc. Lion King was next and it was also amazing. Went through the story line of Simba "I Just Can't Wait to be King". Then Scar's song. The stampede scene was very well done. Mufasa was only in that scene - only to die at the end so you don't get to hear "the voice". "Can You Fell the Love Tonight", "Cirle of LIfe". Intermission of about 15 minutes. Then Tinker Bell. The show basically went through the story line. There was a lot of conversation and there were a couple of songs. I think the show slowed down a bit for Tinker Bell because it's not a show that has a lot of song which gets the crowd going. I watched the movie a couple of times with my daughter, so she knew who everyone were so I think she really enjoyed it, although I could tell from her face she wasn't as excited as during the first part of the show. Overall, it was great! We went the opening 2 for 1 night, so the tickets came to $12 each, and with all the fees added, it came to $38 for 2 people. I don't think I would pay $80 for 2 people for the show - well maybe. But at $38, my expectations were definitely met and the kids had a ball! Parking is $10 on site.

    Disney On Ice 2009

by splashover on 2009-11-26Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

As usual it was exciting, colourful, and a total family fun night. Disneys ice shows are always enjoyable. Its nice to be re-entered into the worlds of Disney, reminissing (sp?) the movies we all loved so much when they came out on the big screen and on video. If you have put your movies on the shelf, you will want to take them back off and re-watch them to get that thrill once again. The songs that get you moving, and the stories that can bring a tear to the eye. Being at ice level, seeing the performers up close, the cars driving by was really cute, and during Tnkerbells moment, the special effects of the flying faeries. Then the "snow" falling at the shows end. Totally cool!! Keep up the great work Disney!!

It was good. I did have, fun but I was dissapointed that the whole second half was dedicated to Tinkerbell. I don't think boys enjoyed it too much. Also the lady selling Sno Cones and things was one of the rudest sales person I have ever met.

    Disney on Ice was...yawn

by NorthVanFamily on 2009-11-26Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

The show is geared for kids, not sure why it isn't supposed to start until 7:30. It began 10 minutes late. I'm sure this is to ensure your kids have whined enough for you to buy a $20 glowing spinner toy, a $12 bucket of popcorn or $10 bag of cotton candy. The show began and my three year old was over the moon to see her favourite characters, Minnie and Mickey. The show is broken down into shows from there on - First the characters from Cars come and drive their cars rather slowly around the ice for 10 minutes. Then it is time for Ariel's world and four songs from her. Next up is the Lion King. Beware, Mufassa does get killed by the Wildebeests. Then Intermission - more time to buy stuff. Next up is Tinkerbell's world. Well at this point it was 9:15 and my kids were pooped. They had lost interest. They don't know an easy skating move from a challenging one so they were not overly impressed by the ice performances. We left early. Not one of my three kids complained. Oh well. Glad we got free parking. And we managed to only buy $30 in drinks and cotton candy.

Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy was amazing

    by Grace7 on 2009-11-26Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

From the beginning to the end we were thrilled with the many facets of this show. I kept thinking "this is like Disneyland." It definitely took me to a "World of Fantasy". The costumes, the bubbles, the flowers, the many colours, fairies flying through the sky, fireworks, etc. was more than I could have hoped for. This was worth every penny. When we went home I just wanted to take it all in and never forget a single moment. Thank you for a great memory for my daughter and I.

    So much better!

by Mawaremigiko on 2009-11-26Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

Even though Cars part is not very good (it is just that the cars move on the ice...I don't see any skaters....but it lasts only 10 min or so....), Worlds of Fantasy is sooooo good, highly recommended! It is so much better than what I have expected! It is so much better than High School Musical on the ice! My 4 year old daughter was looking forward to seeing Tinkerbell, but the Tinkerbell show was after the intermission, so by that time she was very sleepy and tired, but she could keep her eyes open until the end.
