It's been a long time coming for me to see my favourite band here in Toronto, and finally Doves came for a long awaited show. It was nothing but phenomenal. I great mix of songs from their new album Kingdom of Rust, and just enough of the old stuff to keep the crowd bopping. I definitely was not disapointed.
Excellent show, was better then I had expected. A lot of energy and songs all sounded great.
great show with hits of the new album as well as back catalogue tunes. would have like to have heard 'lifelines' and 'walk in fire' or another couple of hours. that would be greedy though.
This is my second time seeing Doves live. Although I like the new CD, I doubt I will be paying to see them live the next time they come to Toronto. Like the last time I saw them, they struggled to capture the greatness of their epic singles from "The Last Broadcast" live. Furthermore, the sound was not very loud. Not sure if it was the venue or the equipment, but I left somewhat disappointed. If you haven't seen them live, they are worth seeing. I just don't think you'll want to go again and again...
went to see Doves live at the koolhaus june 1st. not the best place to a see a concert in my opinion, but either way the Doves put on a great performance. Been waiting many years to see them, definately lived up to my expectations and more. recommend them live to anyone interested in the genre of rock or ambience. ps. last song they played was 'there goes the fear'. so glad. didnt really like there new album to start, but im diggin it now big time, especially track 5!
I won't waste any space with useless info because if you're here then you obviously dig what Doves has put out and you want to know if the live sound will live up to what they produce on the record. Let me tell you plainly, it absolutely does. Doves is one of the best live shows you will ever get to see. The band feed off the crowd and so, if you come to give yourself to the music and enjoy the experience, you will be rewarded with something too stellar to ever be able to properly describe. Go see the gig. Nothing more needs to be said.
This was my first time seeing Doves, and it sure as hell won't be the last.... definitely one of the best concerts I've been to!
The show was great, they had awesome visuals and their sound was mesmerizing.
This was one of the best shows I've seen this year and would recommend it to anyone, especially if you're into british/manchester bands......
What a great show! The Kool Haus was much better than the docks for this event as well.
Doves are an experienced, talented band. My only disappointment was not hearing their hit songs. Fair enough, with 3 full length and perhaps an EP they have alot of songs to play. My guess is they will keep experimenting and coming up with new music. Be ready for another good album soon, Scouser
I like them even more than I did before now that I have seen them live. The Commodore Ballroom is a great venue and they were fantastic.
Superb! Great show. The album has some great licks that sensuate the old stuff. The band hasn't missed a beat. One of the best live acts around. If you get chance don't miss seeing the pride of Manchester.
As a recent fan of Doves after my lady turned me onto them, I was looking forward to this concert very much. They did not disappoint. It was very clear that Doves have been doing what they do for a while and they knew how to bring the rock. Intense, passionate and super professional. Can't wait until they come back to Vancouver.
