Dream Theater Tickets

For me, this may have been the finest Dream Theater concert I have seen in years. I should mention, the sound was excellent. Excellent choice of visuals and lighting effects; which perfectly fitted the songs subjects. The new songs were amazing live; sounded better than the CD. The band really connected with the set; well paced, the right songs in the right order. James's voice was bang on; the band was on fire. I love progressive rock. Dream Theater bring a very special brand to the table. I really was truly happy at what I witnessed last night. Great job guys! Of the opening acts, I was only able to see Zappa Plays Zappa. What a band! They to, were incredible. Excellent sound, I could hear all the instruments. Dweezil is an awesome musician; and the rest of the band; they were smokin'. Special mention should be made about the drummer; this guy is a machine; his fills were incredible.

It was awesome! :) Keep it up dream! You had a great opener as well, and an unforgetable vocal performance from Mike hahaha, Great!

Dream theater simply amazing, first band Scale the summit very good, second band Big Elf, should not have gone on at all, terrible, sounded like a giant noise, Zappa does Zappa, even though I have never been into his music , the band was still very entertaining and amusing. The only thing that I wish, is that Mike Portnoy should have done a drum solo. If the second band did not play, this would have allowed more time for other Dream theater songs and possibly a drum solo by Mike.

Had a great time. Dream Theater and Zappa Plays Zappa both put on a great show. Unfortunately missed the other opening acts.

having seen dream theater on one of their last shows of the sytematic chaos tour, i wasnt expecting alot. Last time, James' voice sounded strained and incomplete. last time john petrucci seemed robotic while playing. not this time James sounded absolutely incredible! John P was showing so much emotion while shredding.They did a good number of new songs including: A nightmare to remember, A Rite of passage, and the count of tuscany. However, they also played many songs from their earlier cd's. Hearing Hollow years being played beautifully was fantastic. Also, the transition between keyboard solo and erotomania sounded fantastic. I was very pleasently surprised to hear Forsaken, as it was my favourite song from systematic. Take the time was absolutely amazing. no other way to describe it. in the encore they did a great cover of the rush song "the camera eye." which they did, like all the other songs, amazingly. best show ever.

this show was awesome, i saw them 2 years ago at the molsen amp, and they were awesome then as well but this time i think they have managed to get better somehow. James labrie's vocals were a lot better than i remembered.

It was a great show... Dream Theater is always a great band to watch. This was my 3rd show of them & the best one. What a show I watched... Thank you for coming to Toronto..

set list was okay. very good performance by the band especially labrie. wished they played more of their classic songs but most of their songs are really long so they cannot fit it in their permitted time. over all pretty good with an amazing opening band with dweezil zappa.

After having unfortunately passed over Toronto last time around, Dream Theater finally brought their Progressive Nation festival to the Molson Ampitheater, to a reaction nothing short of electrifying. After Swedish prog lords Pain Of Salvation dropped from the tour, I had been concerned about their replacements, but Scale The Summit and the humorously self-depreciating Bigelf put on spirited shows to reactions that were polite at worst and completely energized at best. Zappa Plays Zappa came completely out of the blue; their sprawling, quasi-improv style was as technically impressive as it was entertaining - including a segment involving lead vocals from DT's "Iron Mike" Portnoy! But when the lights went down and the curtains fell, Dream Theater put on a show more spirited than any of their Molson performances in recent memory (most recently Gigantour and the Chaos In Motion tour). With full-motion video shows and thousands of excited voices accompanying the band, they blazed through a set that blended the crushingly heavy and the sensitively soft and the concise and the prog-maniacal. Hollow Years, the cathartic highlight of the night, was lit by a crowd that sung perhaps even louder than LaBrie - and the intro to The Count Of Tuscany was met by perhaps the most genuinely excited applause I have ever seen at a rock show - an applause that turned out to be justified. If you have even a passing interest in progressive music, get yourself to Progressive Nation as soon as you can. A side note - at the merch stand at the Toronto location, DT wasn't selling its Official Bootleg series like it was on the Chaos In Motion tour, but you can get yourself some Scale The Summit and Zappa Plays Zappa music on CD there.

Simply Incredible. Openers Scale the Summit, Bigelf and Zappa plays Zappa werent anything to write home about. Technically speaking, a good performance from all but lacked substance and musical flow found in headliner Dream Theater. Sound quality top notch, LaBries vocals at their best; from high to low, note for note, pitch for pitch. Petrucci does not disappoint, stealing the show with his impressive showmanship style solo'ing in and out in collaboration with Rudess. Myung providing a solid foundation for all songs such as Voices, Take the Time, and the newly released A Nightmare to Remember. The audience chants Portnoy as he moves in and out of the beat, changing time signatures almost effortlessly as well as providing some classic humor and hand pumping drum beats. DT's visit to Toronto was all and more then what could be imagined. Cant wait for their next visit. Suprising cover of Rush's Camera Eye as well as an extended version of Hollow Years, concluding with The Count of Tuscany from their new album Black Clouds and Silver Linings. If there be a rock concert to brag about, DTs August 14th performance and the Molson Amphitheater would be it. Dont miss a chance to catch them on tour.

I really enjoyed the show. As a Zappa fan, I could have used a longer set by ZPZ, as obviously with the show running past 5 hours duration, the questions was whether it was balanced well across the four acts. It seemed that the ZPZ was short and Dream Theater was very very very long.

Scale the Summit and Zappa Plays Zappa were really good as well but they certainly saved the best for last. Dream Theater was absolutely AMAZING and im soooooooo glad that I got the chance to go!!!!!! Can't wait for the next time they play in Toronto

Great show! Dweezil & the band were great and could only be topped by an act as good as Dream Theater. Awesome!

The seats were great!...Thought that everyone performed fantastically...I would go again...

Dream Theater are 5 of the most talented musicians in the world.Last nights show was great.Their mixture of metal and progressive rock ,for me,is always satisfying.Light show was fantastic,and the musicianship ,as always, was spot on.They played songs covering their 25 year career and for the encore came out and did Rush's,'the Camera Eye'.Awesome.Mike Portnoy,the drummer,always a showman,had me in stiches whenever he was on camera.John Petrucci,the guitarist,is a shredding machine,playing lead so fast i swear i saw his fingers smoking.The singer,James Labrie,well his voice gets better with age.Keyboardist,Jordan Rudess,in his red wizard hat plays like a monster and last but not least ,John Myung with his six string bass,fingers ablaze,playing along with petrucci.Oh yeah,Dream Theater rock man!

just an amazing evening with the warm sun holding you captive as zappa plays zappa rang out some great music that just held you as we listened and were trated to a display of craftmenship by a such talented performers. Pure energy radating from the croud enegited a performence that I won't soon forget. DT are so talented and skilled . The croud chanted the words to many songs and the energy flowed thru your body. Drawing you into there complex harmonys. Progisive Metal at it's Best
