Love the Band not the Fans

by CdnIvy on 2023-01-04History - Toronto

This was my 5th concert and the fans have gotten worse. Maybe it wasn’t the usual base because it was NYE but the last live show at Danforth Music Hall had a better vibe. You really had to sharpen your elbows to keep your place on the floor. I should have paid more to be on the balcony to the avoid the rif raff in what became mosh pit of drunken entitled white kids, home for the holiday from Queen’s. Becky get off Jake’s shoulder’s, this ain’t Coachella. Left before the third set as my balls had enough of getting knuckle-swiped like it was Pride. I still love DG…hope the crowd I know and love comes back for the summer cruise.

    Love live music

by Snow on 2023-01-03History - Toronto

Beasty Boy steels the show. Tbh I found the Massey Hall concert / playlist was better. Love all the band. So much energy, so much fun. Carleigh A is a great addition. Seems like you all enjoy making music together.

    Happy New Year

by JM on 2023-01-03History - Toronto

Overall the concert was good. The band was great, the lights and sound were great. The venue itself it’s pretty cool. I appreciate staff and security at the doorway. I did see staff on the floor a couple times. Bars are nice, variety of drinks was “ok”. Cost of drinks was a little high considering. Floor was crowded and unfortunately people were vaping on the floor which should not be allowed. There was a smell of marijuana on the floor. A few couples were very highly impaired on what appeared to be ecstasy. Some had little control and were constantly bumping into other people. I think I would personally chose to stand somewhere else next time. Perhaps a closer eye and interventions with people out of control and ruining an event for others would be nice.

    Dwayne Gretzky rocked the house!

by Anthrogynous on 2015-01-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Was a pleasure seeing Dwayne Gretzky play the Danforth Music Hall. I'm used to the seated venue, so in the GA area, it was very wide open. It was really awkward, at points, because the venue slopes. But hard on the knees. But still fun, great set, great balloon drop.
