At $5 for the first 3 rounds and $20 for the finals, i thought it was worth it to be among the crowd. At the same time, being over 60, it was good not having to be in an hours long lineup to get in since there is assigned seating. Plus, for the 35-plus crowd, it is a better alternative to the Moss pit or the Fan Zone park. Seating in most areas of the arena at a reasonable price is a plus. Home game prices were not budget friendly on the resale market. It is better when the circles on the ice representing Oiler players and opposing players are going in the same direction as the TV broadcast. I like that the scoreboard displays the same information during the game as a home game. Add touches of having the P.A, announcer to announce Oiler goals and Hunter at centre ice with the drum add a regular home game experience for a road game. Concession stands that are open vary from game to game. Some games the grab and go was open and i could get a salad. Other games they were not. It was good that Molson Hockey house was open during the finals before the game. Me and my family make it a regular stop before regular season home games.I think a comment that lower prices for concession items is probably a regular comment about all events that take place at the arena. It likely will not happen, but a freeze at current price levels or lower prices for the next 5 years or so like wages for many Albertans have experienced in the previous 5 years would be good given the rising cost of live entertainment plus parking. A great way to have a game experience that has the the feel of a party out in the back yard, combined with a night at a sports bar without having the clean up the mess after.
