Edmonton Oilers History
The origin of the Oilers goes back to 1972, when they were one of the founding franchises of the World Hockey Association. Once the league folded in 1979, they were one of four teams absorbed into the National Hockey League. It didn't take long for them to establish dominance in the league, reeling off five Stanley Cup Championships in seven years. They are tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the most championships since the NHL-WHA merger.
The Oilers of the '80s were a phenomenal dynasty with a roster that reads like the Hockey Hall of Fame: Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Paul Coffey, Glenn Anderson, Grant Fuhr, Jari Kurri, plus a stellar supporting cast. Gretzky scored 92 goals in 1982, breaking Phil Esposito’s record for number of goals in a single season. He also recorded a record 215 points in 1985. During his time with the Oilers as center and team captain, Gretzky led the team to four Stanley Cup championships (1984, 1985, 1987, and 1988). By the time Gretzky finished his time with the Oilers, he held or shared a total of 49 NHL records.
In all, the Edmonton Oilers have appeared in the Stanley Cup Final eight times.

My first oilers game experience was awesome the fans were loud and supportive
This is something everyone needs to experience at least once in their life!👌🏽💕😍
Seats were very comfortable. Section 103, seats 3&4. It was cool being so close to the oilers. Behind the bench. Everyone has to try behind the oilers bench at least once!
Had a great evening, it was my first nhl game, I’m glad I got to see experience it
First NHL game for the two of us! Great venue (Edmonton) that had us grinning from ear to ear just to show that we were rookies! The process seemed a little daunting being the first time, but with the explanation from the online urging, things went off without a hitch right from choosing seats, payment, timely reminders of the event right up to entry. Like I said... good stuff!
We are out of province visitors. Rogers IA an absolutely fabulous facility. We stayed at the Sandman Signature Hotel, which was connected via walkways to Rogers Place. The whole downtown sports arena is well thought out.
It was my first time at Roger’s place I loved the arena but the game sucked I love the Edmonton oilers I was hoping we win but calgary took it I was hoping Edmonton will win I will definitely see the Oilers again
It was a great game for Oiler fans. It was against Detroit. First game I've seen with Conner playing. Only get to a game once in awhile. The only thing we didn't like was our seats were very uncomfortable. We were up very high. Could see well but seats are too small. Making seats too close together.
Oilers game are always fun to attend at Roger's Place. Great vibes, great show, It's loud, non-stop. Totally worth it!
Great experience, nice win!! Beers too pricy though. Will be back, guaranteed!!
Packed house, lots of excitement, and the Oilers won their 16th game in a row.
Great location, great 3rd period and the 14th win on a row
Great time . Not enough places sell hot chocolate .
If you are ok being seated a little higher up the Sportsnet lounge is worth every cent. All food inside is included (our game was chicken tacos, fish and chips, prime rib and all the fixings. Then there is Hotdogs, popcorn and other finger food well. Oh save room as after the 2nd period dessert comes out). Besides the food there are 2 bars (non alcoholic beverages are free) with a nice variety and lines are super short. Oh don't forget if you want to stay in your seat a server will bring you drinks. Then the room has its own bathroom so no long lines. My 14 year old son and I had a great experience in the lounge and would recommend it to anyone. Oh the game ends you are not rushed out and can stay for a drink if you so desire. Hopefully we can get lounge seats again.
Great service, no lines, great ice visibility, ice district was fun!
Had a great time! Stayed at the sandman inn and walked over inside. Easy!
The rink is so easy to get in and out, lots of amenities. Lots of great seats.
My daughter and I (both Oilers fanatics!) wanted to leave Vancouver (canucks bleh!) and attend a game with the greatest fans in the NHL, cheering together for the greatest team in the NHL. It was a birthday gift to my daughter. We stayed at the JW Marriott ICE District (which was FANTASTIC!) and got tickets through TicketMaster for the Oilers v Vegas game. It was totally amazing! So convenient purchasing online with TicketMaster, seamless system with the perfect amount of communication. Didn't know the game was also the 'Hockey Fights Cancer' night (which I am fighting too). It was a great time, and we got the win!!
Spent a good amount of money to watch a what would normally be called a hockey game. Went with my siblings, one left early cus they would rather get work done than finish the game. Sloppy play, no heart. Couldn’t even get a good buzz on because drinks are outrageously priced. Next time I’m in Edmonton I’ll spend my money on something more worth while. Didn’t see McJesus play either.
Bad game...seats were good, able to see the entire ice and how terrible the Oilers were playing. Didn't purchase anything at the game as the prices are ridiculous. It's too bad when you spend that kind of money to go and you see a dud of a game. It's definitely not worth going to watch the Oilers if they're not a winning team. Too expensive to waste money on pro athlete's making U15 mistakes.
