About

The Emirates NBA Cup is the league’s annual in-season tournament, which launched in the 2023-24 regular season. From November to December, all 30 NBA teams compete on four "Cup Nights," followed by seven Knockout Round games and the final NBA Cup Championship. Each game in the Emirates NBA Cup, outside of the Championship, runs concurrently with the regular season and counts toward regular season overall standings, with the added stakes of a winners’ prize pool and ultimately hoisting the NBA Cup. Group Play and the Knockout Round quarterfinals vary between home and away arenas, while the Semifinals and Championship games are held at the neutral site of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Along with the Emirates NBA Cup trophy, one player will be awarded the title of Most Valuable Player and five top players are selected to the All-Tournament Team. In 2023, the inaugural in-season tournament culminated in victory for the Los Angeles Lakers behind an MVP performance by LeBron James.

FAQS

The Emirates NBA Cup is a monthlong, in-season event involving all 30 teams. The tournament takes place at the same time as the regular season in November and concludes in early December. With the exception of the Championship Game, wins and losses in the In-Season Tournament count towards each team’s overall 2024-25 regular season record. For up-to-date info on the NBA In-Season Tournament, visit the league website.

The 2024 Emirates NBA Cup tips off on Tuesday, November 12 and culminates with the Championship game on Tuesday, December 17.

All 30 NBA teams will compete in the Group Play Round. Eight teams (four from each conference), consisting of the team with the best tournament record from each group and two “wild card” teams that earned the second-best tournament record within each conference, advance to the Knockout Round. For the Group Play Round, every team in the league is split up into the following groups:

Western Conference

West Group A

West Group B

West Group C

Eastern Conference

East Group A

East Group B

East Group C
