Enjoyed the diverse dance performances from around the world

by Anthony C on 2021-10-17Meridian Hall - Toronto

Enjoyed all 3 dance performances especially for the third featuring Siphesihle November and his brother Mthuthuzeli November as I have been following their story. The venue, the music and the choreography is very powerful. So happy to see siblings performing together professionally for the first time in over a decade.

    Beautiful costuming

by JB on 2019-10-17Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I saw two shows and enjoyed both! I have to say that the performances that had pretty costumes as well as beautiful, intricate dancing and music stayed with me the most. My senses were piqued! The dances from New Zealand, Brazil, India/France, and our own National Ballet were exciting and gorgeous to look at! Four and a 1/2 stars!

    Program 1

    by M on 2019-10-11Ryerson Theatre - Toronto

Fall for Dance North is an excellent opportunity for everyone to experience different dance companies at an extremely reasonable price. I am very fond of both traditional ballet and modern dance and have seen countless dance companies both in Toronto and elsewhere. This year, I found the program disappointing. In all cases, however, the dancers did a spectacular job, I just wasn't inspired by all of the choreography. While typically a fan of Toronto Dance Theatre, I thought the choreography was stale and uninspiring. The New Zealand Dance Company was long and tedious. On the other hand, the Skanes Dansteater (Sweden) was incredibly innovative and beautifully danced. The performance was touching and timely. I would love to see more of this Company. I've seem Grupo Corpo (Brazil) many times in the past and thought this performance was pleasant. I look forward to Fall for Dance North 2020 and am hoping for better programming,.

Amazing opportunity to enjoy a variety of dance

    by J. C. on 2019-10-08Ryerson Theatre - Toronto

Great initiative. An amazing value. Each program consists of 4 dance groups, sharing their style during their set. I've enjoyed it so much in past years that this year I bought tickets for all 3 programs.
