About

Los Angeles-based thrash outfit Five Finger Death Punch formed in 2005 around the talents of former U.P.O. guitar player Zoltan Bathory, former W.A.S.P. guitarist Darrell Roberts, vocalist Ivan Moody (Motograter/Ghost Machine), bass player Matt Snell (Anubis Rising), and former W.A.S.P. drummer Jeremy Spencer. The underground supergroup's volatile but groove-heavy debut, Way of the Fist, was released in 2007, followed by War Is the Answer in 2009. The following year, the bassist Matt Snell parted ways with the band just after they had gone into the studio to being work a new album, and in 2011 Five Finger Death Punch recruited Chris Kael to take over for him. Later that year, the band released their third studio album, American Capitalist.

If you're running late don't worry, Persist isn't worth showing up early for! FFDP and Soulfly were outstanding.

    5FDP Was Outstanding

by SmileyonFire on 2011-12-08Sound Academy - Toronto

From Hatebreed to All That Remains to 5FDP, it just got better and better. Instant energy, instant thrills and 2 days later my ears are still ringing! Actually felt that ATR was a little weak, but maybe it's because I was too busy moshing to focus on their musicianship (hope I didn't hurt anybody!). Jason Hook was unreal when he performed his solo pieces, pity he was not given more time. Ivan had the crowd in the palm of his hands and was brilliant. Regretted that he didn't sing "Undone".

This was my first time seeing any of these bands and they were all really good. The highlight for me though was Hatebreed. I've always been a fan of Hatebreed, but their performance far exceeded my expectations. So much positive energy! I would definitely see these bands again.
