  • Terrible Lounge Singer

by CarMan on 2023-08-11Rating: 2 out of 5

Two stars because it actually is quite a good band behind the guy - seriously good music! - but the singer himself just sucks every molecule of oxygen out of the room. His "singing"is too screamy/screechy. He's very loud and unbelievably obnoxious. The other reviews are correct, he tells unfunny sex/bathroom jokes non stop, tells full length stories that interest no one but himself (seriously they happen before and after every single song and are at least as long as the songs), and swears a lot. We lost track of how many F-bombs. He's a zero, band's a three, venue/service were a three, giving them a two overall. They desperately need to replace their singer, because of his terrible and offensive, screamy, full of himself lounge act, we literally thought this short, balding man might be some kind of Tony Clifton type joke!

  • D'angelo entertains!

An energetic, heartfelt show with a large talented band. Some patter but plenty of vintage and original music.

  • Very entertaining

Was at the casino with some friends and we saw a poster that Frank D'Angelo was performing so we decided to go. We know him from his television show and charity work in the Ottawa area over the years. It was an engaging performance from the start to the end. We really enjoyed the show and we heard that he was there last year. We would totally go see him again and hopefully he comes back soon.

  • Feedback on Frank D'Angelo's show, November 13.

    by Jandd11 on 2015-11-16Theatre du Casino du Lac-Leamy - GATINEAURating: 1 out of 5

Casino du Lac Leamy Frank D’Angelo show, Friday November 13, 2015. There was about 150 spectators at the show, in a theatre that can hold 1,000 people. Frank D’Angelo’s show turned out to be the worst show we have ever seen, a real rip off… in a 1.5 h period, he might have sung 9 songs, maximum. After each song, he started talking, like a monologue, about really either bad sex innuendo jokes, regional small-towns, etc. To a point that after an ill-fated innuendo joke, he asked the crowd if they were all gay… on top of that, the total lack of respect for the audience by swearing (a few “f*&k”) here and there, and calling his musical director a “social whore”… and when he did sing, he had to bend down to read the lyrics at some point. He didn’t do any new songs or any one for that matter that we can hear on the sponsored radio station’s playlist. His 16 piece band (yes, 16 people accompanying him on stage) was there to add a visual support and fill in the stage, otherwise, they didn’t sweat much by playing since they had to listen to D’Angelo talk and talk and talk, going on and on and on between each songs… Losing a lot of momentum and the audience’s interest. Some people were leaving before it ended… No “encore” at the end, clapping ended quick. Really this show and Frank D’Angelo’s performance was the worst we’ve seen and we were very disappointed.

We very much enjoyed the performance. My connection with Frank is from watching his television show. The performance at the Casino offered one more glimpse of who he is. What you see is what you get! A great example of following your dreams and using your gifts Thank you for an entertaining evening

We went with our relatives for a fun night out to see Frank D'Angelo and his band. Our feet couldn't stop tapping and our tongues were a wagging. (from singing and laughing) What a great band. We would have liked to hear more of the string section. The horns and sax were top notch.

  • The Worst I've Ever Seen

by NickEman on 2014-10-16Casino Lac Leamy - GatineauRating: 1 out of 5

Without any doubt, this was the worst concert I have ever attended. This man is a lunatic. His band is competent, but you can see the embarrassment on their faces.

  • Music or Stand-up Comedy?

by luvRandB on 2014-09-23Theatre du Casino du Lac-Leamy - GATINEAURating: 2 out of 5

4 of us attended the show. Being avid R&B fans, we were very disappointed with the amount of actual music performed! When there was music, it was nice! Unfortunately, F. D'. seemed more interested in performing a stand-up comedy routine. Furthermore, F. D'. tried at least on 4 occasions to get audience participation in songs, didn't work - should've given up after two tries! Paid to hear F. D'. and His Band, not the audience! Bottom line, not worth the price of admission...
