    George Jones RED DEER

by msklg on 2009-10-16Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

The George Jones show in Red Deer was entertaining. Enjoyed the local BC opener Mike Gouchie, and the Jones Boys band were great too. George can still sing the oldies. Were there with our parents, but there were many younger people there too. THANKS GEORGE!

    Not too shabby

by samislapa1 on 2009-10-16Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

We thought the warm-up band played too many songs. We also were getting anxious to see George play and when his band started we were excited and then they played 3 more songs before he even come out. I heard many comments from the audience that they were getting restless also. I realize that his age and health have to be taken into consideration, but we could listen to hs songs for hours.

    The Possum

by GrammaL on 2009-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Unfortunately, George is like the rest of us and getting old!! It showed in his performance, but never the less, George is George, and always will be!! He gives me goose bumps everytime!! His guy on the fiddle was unreal and the Jones boys know exaclty when to step in to get George a hand. They are like a well oiled machine!!! Thanks for coming one last time George!!!

by karenkrunch on 2009-10-14Yorkton Gallagher Centre - Yorkton

The warm up act was too long, George Jone,s voice was cracking-he was ill with allergies. For the cost of the tickets it was a total disappointment.

Medley of hits was nice to hear

by Jain on 2009-10-14Yorkton Gallagher Centre - Yorkton

The show started at 7:30. The warm up act was on stage until about 8:15 - he was alright to start with however four songs would have been plenty. The Jones Band came on and were great - however they were on until about 8:50 - a couple of songs would have been a nice lead into the actual concert and again this got to be too long. At 8:50 George finally came out. I have to say I know that he getting up in age andI didn't expect him to sound the way he did a few years ago but oh my goodness! I am not sure if he had a cold or allergies or what but he had to stop at the beginning of his first song to clear his throat and really - he had problems throughout the whole performance. I felt bad fo him - this man is a legend in country music and I really think he should retire - he is doing a dis-service to the amazing talent he once was by continuing to perform. I spoke with many friends who were at the concert and we were all of the same opinion. I love his mucic and always will but someone needs to tell him it is time to retire his show.

by metji on 2009-10-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The whole evening was just great .George started out a bit slow but once his vocal cords warmed up he was great .his band and te lady singer did a beautifully jop backing him never over powering him which was great as we came to see George Jones and we at least did not care if he needed to take a break and let his voice rest .we would go again to see him .One of the few old time greats that are left

George jones can still belt them out

by booksbooks0 on 2009-10-13Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We were not to sure how this concert would go, because George Jones is getting older every year. He can still sing great, there were a few spots at the begining that his voice quit. All in all it was a great performance

    Great Show

by fitty on 2009-10-12Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

It was nice to see another Country Icon. We saw him when he was here last time (had better seats) but that was because I was to slow. It is amazing how much energy he still has to put into his shows. Thank you for the memories George Jones.

    He was GOOD!

by 1900s on 2009-10-12Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This was a birthday gift from my son, and I was quite excited! The young female who accompanied George Jones has a wonderful voice and it was so good to see a singer unfamiliar to me with such a strong skill. George Jones, what can I say? He was every bit as good as he has been and I am impressed that he still has the stamina to tour. I do believe he is around my age, 80 years young, and aging gracefully just like me. He was hoarse sometimes, and he said the tour was taking its tole on his voice. However, this did not lessen my enjoyment of this still fantastic singer.

I think George Jones is awesome. Obviously he is not as energetic as he was 20 years ago, but still gives it his best.

lets here it for the possum

by maddog1234 on 2009-10-11Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Well its been another great show for the POSSUM.And know doubt about it he's getting older and slower but still puts on a great show.If i could see him every year I would. He still likes to play his drinking and cheating songs.I only wished he would of played a couple of new songs. If i could only live as long as george and have as much pep as he does at his age, well that in itself would be something to be very thankful for.But I still say two thumbs up for GEORGE JONES, and I hope he takes the time to come back next trip.

    George Jones Awsome

by Lou22 on 2009-10-11Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The show started out a little shaky-but as the show progressed it was totally awsome. It was so great to see that at his age he had the stamina to do a show of that length-I was very surprised and happy that the show lasted as long as it did for his segment. It was terrific to see a lot of the younger crowd was enjoying him as much as the older ones who have followed his career. The whole crowd was so into the show and he was feeding off that energy. I wouldn't have missed this show for the world-it was terrific

    A Decent Concert

by Saums on 2009-10-11Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I bought the tickets for my mom and dad and they thoroughly enjoyed the show! Although they weren't overly impressed with the opening act, they said that George Jones (who must now be in his 70s they think) still put on a good show and is still quite a good singer.
