Canadian singer Ginette Reno, born Ginette Raynault, got her start performing at Montreal cabarets in her teenage years. She earned her big break at just 18 when she won Female Discovery of the Year at a gala for Quebec musicians, launching her first tour throughout the US, UK, and France soon after. She released her self-titled debut album in 1962 to critical acclaim and commercial success, becoming a superstar virtually overnight. Since then the gold and platinum-selling artist has released over 30 records, won three Juno Awards, earned a star on Canada's Walk of Fame, and awarded the honor of Officer of the Order of Canada. Whether she's singing alongside luminaries like Celine Dion and Lionel Richie or performing solo, the highly decorated Reno always delivers a jaw-dropping live show for her devoted fans.
I always enjoy Ginette. Not only is her singing out of the ordinary she also makes us laugh and forget all our troubles for a few hours. I would go back anytime she comes to the NAC.
Her voice is still as magnificent as ever! Having her son as her musical director is also very special. The sound in the theatre was superb! The fact she performed and spoke almost entirely in French was somewhat disappointing. Our group of four does not speak French.
Ginette Reno can give a really nice show. She has one of those unique voices. The 10 piece orcestra was something to see in itself.
Ginette Reno was amazing. It was an evening to remember her superb voice and a chance to say thank you for all the years of entertainment.
What a amazing talented singer, i was taken away into memories of when my mother would sing these songs when i was a teen. It was a powerful performance with laughter and tears. Thank you so much Ginette. The Beav. xoxoxo
She still has her beautiful voice, some notes gave me goose bumps. I saw a wonderful lady with a very large heart filled with love and passion not only for her music but her love for her children and grand children. Her connection with her son on stage, made it that more memorable. I wish her long life and good health so she can enjoy all of it that much more. I feel very fortunate to have seen her in concert.
An evening I will always remember full of absolute exceptional talent and emotions.
Ginette sang from the heart and for her fans. She had everyone's full attention. Her singing is amazing and her down to earth conversation with the crowd is like she is your best friend. She filled my heart with emotional memories and only Ginette can do that. I loved her 10 years ago and love her more with this show.
