Very big production, live orchestra. Amazing dancers, my very first ballet
I took my 6 year old granddaughter to see this performance. She absolutely loved it. Me too. An impressive, traditional Nutcracker! Highly recommended….look forward to seeing it again next year
The ballet was fun, the cast and dancing was good. Ms. Goh opened the show which was nice. The orchestra was PHENOMENAL and played Tchaikovsky’s score with ease. The audience left something to be desired. I have never been to a performance at the Queen E with such poor etiquette. SO MANY people showed up late (like over half an hour late), and stood in the aisle trying to get to their seats thus blocking our view of the performance. Everyone around us was talking away. Ushers had to tell multiple people to get off their phones and stop filming. Not any of this is the fault of the theatre or production of the show but if you’re that late, maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to be seated until intermission.
The orchestra was incredible and the sound was phenomenal. The principal dancers and guest dancers were fabulous, and the sheep stole the show to be sure. However QE is not a comfortable venue for anyone over 5’5. Our party ranging from 5’7 - 6 sat in LDB and everyone’s knees hurt from being cramped.
Great seats, WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL costumes and the talent, grace and agility of all the performers was outstanding. Was lovely to see little ones taking part as well. Very special! Would definitely go again.
If you’re looking for the most magical, dazzling, and unforgettable Christmas experience in the city, look no further. Goh Ballet puts on a show like no other with the power to enchant and fill your heart with Holiday spirit. Performed by the some of the greatest dancers and stage performers out there, it will fill your heart with wonder and amazement!
What an incredible performance…the costumers, dancers and scenery were stunning. And the dancers were absolutely outstanding…gave me chills & tears of joy!
The production went big on costume and sets. Deleted dance to accommodate kiddy party tricks (magic shows and acrobat) on stage. Also a lot of kiddy participation that added nothing but "cute". This is not to say it was a bad show - just one that's less Nutcracker and more X'mas School Play. Novel take but not something I enjoyed thoroughly.
Brought our kids, this show was incredible. Stunning performances, we all loved it and will certainly come again
I am a former ballerina so I love nothing more than to attend a high quality ballet. The dancers were talented, music was great and the production was entertaining. The guests were annoying. How rude to show up so late. I missed a huge chunk of the first part of the show because everyone was arriving late. The seat rows are so narrow that everyone has to get out of the lane to let people in. A lady behind me brought the sickest kid i ever heard because I guess how dare she miss the show due to her sick child (selfish). Seats feel every kick. Dont sit in balcony if you are stuck behind a tall person, you cant see. The lady beside me kept using her phone light to read the program which was the brightest thing ever. Tldr, the show is great and humans are inconsiderate. If you cant have some etiquette for a beautiful show and respect the performers and other attendees then dont go. Please.
Wonderful dancing. Fantastic sets. Best Nutcracker in years!
Such an amazing performance and a beautiful memory for my family which will turn it into a tradition:)
The ballet was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of it, that is, the parts that weren't ruined by the usher. Whoever was assigned in the Left Balcony entrance obviously didn't want to be there, they were very sarcastic to the guests seated in front of me. There was also a double-booking problem for one seat and the guests had to solve it on their own bc the usher simply left to do something else and never came back to check in. 'Something else' including allowing latecomers way into Act I. I understand maybe a few minutes past opening but letting people block the view for those who came on time isnt really something a theatre should do. Honestly I will watch as many Goh Ballet productions as I can and the only thing that would make me hesitate is if the venue was Queen Elizabeth Theatre again (maybe a bit unfairly, the other staff we encountered were wonderful, but man, that one usher really ruined it)
What a perfect way to end the year. The most vibrant, interactive, inclusive presentation of the Nutcracker we've ever experienced. And those kids! Brilliant work, Goh family. Big love. ❤️
Second part of the show has nothing related to Christmas or the story of the Nutcracker. Some of the dancings just aren’t good enough compared with other international shows.
I really loved all the young dancers and the awesome sets. The woman with the hola hoop was something to behold. I did not know the human body could be that flexible.
I love to see how many local young dancers are involved in the show, and the result is so professional and simply magical. We watch Goh Ballet Nutcracker every year.
Loved the Nutcracker. Its been years since I have seen the production and was thoroughly in awe of the talent, the performers attire and stage sets. My son, not a classical theatre goer, commented “very impressive”. I hope to make the Nutcracker an annual event. One downside was the parking lot, where traffic was jammed due to the lot being full. No attendants were present, or signage as we drove around and around to advise the lot was full. Seating in the theatre was comfortable, however tight when we had to stand to let others in and out. All in all, we had a very pleasant afternoon.
Magical experience - it was like watching a story book come to life
