Just saw the show with my husband and two teenage sons and we all loved it - my husband is not a fan of "musicals" but after the first number he said Wow!". Everything about it amazing, the songs, the singing and dancing were flawless. We would go back again in a heartbeat if we didn't live so far away.
Made a trip down to Chicago just for Hamilton and had a wonderful weekend in the city! Although we're both quite short, we managed to see ok (provided there weren't a lot of tall people sitting in front of us) in the Mezzanine Lower Centre section (row M, Seats 319 and 321). The show as pretty great -- audios were loud enough, costumes were fantastic, and despite being somewhat far away from the stage, the experience was still amazing. Hoping to come back to see another show! (Or even, their tour!)
After listening to the OBC album for a year, I had some high expectations for this show...And it exceeded them!! The music, set, lighting, staging, choreography, and cast all came together so perfectly, complimented by the beautiful theatre. Joshua Henry as Aaron Burr and Karen Olivo as Angelica Schuyler Church were the highlights of the performance, drawing you in with every word and movement.
I am very lucky to be able to see lots of Broadway productions, and I have to say it was best musical. I have to admit that I was going with reservation, American political history, hip hop, those are things that I am not looking for in musical. And on top of that all this hip around it. I was worrying that I won't like it. And there was surprise, I loved it from the beginning till end. Highly recommended. If you can see only one play it must be Hamilton.
Absolutely phenomenal! Lived up to the hype, reviews, awards and then some. If you can score tickets, GO! Our only disappointment was when the show was over. Would definitely go again, and again, and again.
