We attended the 7:30 PM performance of Hamilton in Ottawa on August 17 as a family—parents and two teens. From the very first note, we were utterly awe‑struck by this production. The entire cast was spectacular, but we were truly moved by Nikisha Williams, whose portrayal of Eliza Hamilton was emotionally powerful and unforgettable. Her performance left us completely blown away.

The last time Hamilton came to town, my youngest daughter contracted COVID 2 days before she was supposed to attend Hamilton. I promised her I would get tickets for the next time the show came to Ottawa. 5 or 6 years later I kept my promise as we attended the August 17 performance in Ottawa. My daughter wept tears of joy through the whole first act. The performance was tight. Lighting was precise and inventive. Rotating stages were flawless. Sound mix between orchestra and performers was perfect. The actor who played Washington had a powerful voice yet his levels coming out of the mix never varied. Costumes were great. Choreography was superb. Can't say anything negative about this tour. Attend if you can!

I have only seen the Disney version by Lin Manuel and although was Broadway Across Canada, they did not let me down! The Cast performance was so awesome I really don't know the words to adequately describe the experience. Right from the start, I found myself smiling from ear to ear, and I even whoo-hoo'd, which is TOTALLY not in my character (I'm 71). It is definitely the top of all my musicals I've seen in my lifetime. Many thanks to all who gave me such a great experience.

My daughter and I were SO glad to finally get the chance to see what all the buzz was about this musical. And boy, are the reviews every right. The music, the performances, the story are all worth the ticket price.
