    Absolutely spectacular

by Mugglesdaddy on 2019-11-05Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

If you’re a Harry Potter fan this show has to be on your must see list. Toronto symphony orchestra playing the entire movie score. They are so good sometimes you forget it’s not live. They never missed a beat. I can’t recommend this show enough. Worth every penny!!!

What an incredible way to experience the magical world of Harry Potter. The symphony was amazing, they brought out the magic of the movie in a different, fun, way. Would definitely go again!!!!!!!

Great experience. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra never disappoint. This is my third concert in the series and by far the best experience.

    10/10 - would DEFINITELY recommend!

by sharleners on 2019-11-04Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

First of all, I LOVE Harry Potter. So to hear that there was a live concert version... I just knew I had to try it. The only thing I regret was not sitting right in front of the orchestra. The TSO was AMAZING with their scoring and was so seamless with the movie that I almost forgot it was all live. I’m planning to watch every Harry Potter live-concert available in Toronto because I can’t get over how authentic and exhilarating the TSO made the movie (I have to start saving for Deathly Hallows in May!). My favourite part is watching the orchestra during really intense moments. During a movie, the scoring gives you the feeling you’re supposed to have during a scene, but watching the scoring live makes you appreciate what you’re feeling. My recommendation: spend the little bit extra to sit closer. I can’t imagine how amazing it would be to be able to watch and listen to the orchestra that closely while simultaneously enjoying Harry Potter. Also - don’t be afraid to go alone! I was too late to get good seats in pairs of two, but going alone was not a problem. Everyone in the hall was cheering and shouting throughout the movie. So it felt like a unified experience. Start buying your tickets, folks!

    Great Experience!

by AM on 2019-11-04Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Such a great way to experience both the beautiful score and the movies of the Potter-verse. The Symphony is marvelously all-engrossing throughout the entire movie. The conductor encourages the audience to interact by clapping and cheering for their favourite characters and moments; and we proudly obliged! One small suggestion is to tweak the video so that the blacks aren't quite so black. There was a lack of depth to the movie itself. Highly recommended!

    Movie + Symphony in 1 = Amazing!

by Laurs on 2019-11-04Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

We saw Order of the Phoenix and decided we couldn't miss Half Blood Prince. It's a great experience and I love the fans' excitement. That said, some people seem to forget it's still a movie, and chat throughout. That needs to stop.

    Fantastic

Took my girlfriend to see this and she was over the moon. The TSO does a terrific job on the score. So much so that I forgot that they were there at some points as they create a truly immersive experience.

Great way to experience the Symphony

by tt on 2019-11-04Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

An event like this is the perfect way to find an introduction to the world of a symphony orchestra. The precision & timing required is mind blowing. Sometimes you are absorbed in the movie & forget the music is live and then you stop watching the screen an look at the musicians. Mind blown ( but kinda $$$)

    Totally worth it!

What a great way to see Half Blood Prince! I wasn't totally convinced that it would be that much different than just watching the movie, but the live score made the experience sincerely moving, and it was great to enjoy the film with a room full of Harry Potter fans :)

    Amazing!

by KD on 2019-11-03Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

The TSO is phenomenal - you don’t realize how much care and thought goes into a movie’s music until you see the slightest movement from the violins - each note carefully executed and the dramatics scenes with the scores - takes the movie to a whole new experience!

A wonderful evening of music and HP!

by CS on 2019-11-03Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Title says it all: we had a fantastic time watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince as played by the TSO. They are a phenomenally talented orchestra and did the score great justice. What a thrill to see the music come to life before us! I couldn’t take my eyes off the orchestra for most of the movie. Highly, highly recommend.
