Harry Potter in Concert was amazing

by Hufflepuff505 on 2018-05-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The show was amazing, you couldn't tell that you weren't watching the film with the sountrack. The timing was perfect.

A great way to introduce the symphony to young people.

    Really Wonderful

by BevS on 2018-05-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Huge Harry Potter fans, my adult daughter and I absolutely loved rewatching the movie accompanied by the TSO and choir. The music was magnificent! I have seen other movie and symphony performances and the seats we had this time, in orchestra row G, were not as good because we couldn’t see all the musicians and watching them play is my favourite part. I would definitely return to mezzanine seating next time. My only complaint, and it is rather significant, is that the conductor encourages audience cheering for favourite characters. I understand it’s fun to cheer when actors appear in movie for the first time but cheering for a name on the screen during credits spoils the final moments of music. Audience should listen to the finale and save their applause for the brilliant musicians!

    Incredible fun

by PHDee on 2018-05-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The music is beautiful, of course and we already loved the movie. We weren’t expecting the fun vibe and encouragement to cheer and boo our way thru the concert. Great communal experience. We’re going to every one in the series.

    TSO made this fantastic

by Vstone on 2018-05-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Such a great way to see this movie. We just would have loved if the screen could have been bigger to see better from further away, and if the music could have been a little louder

    People need to stop shouting

by filmscoreguy on 2018-05-20Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I went to see the film in concert to hear the orchestra but when the fans are encouraged to scream, cheer, boo when something happens during the film it defeats the purpose. I went to listen to the orchestra as I am a musician myself, not listen to the audience. Not to mention spending almost $120 for a seat to hear the music and not the audience. For future performances can this behaviour stop being encouraged please!? Overall it was a great performance.

    A powerful experience

by Anonymous on 2018-05-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

A wonderful Harry Potter experience that is unparalleled in its unforgettable atmosphere. My only tiny complaint is that the film had subtitles playing throughout the performance which distracted slightly from what was happening on screen. Nonetheless, it was a truly magical show and one I hope to experience again.

    Amazing!!

by Tieraa on 2018-05-19Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I have no complaints about this event!! The conductor was amazing, the orchestra was amazing too! The conductor encouraged audience participation, (cheering for their favourite characters and so on), and that made the show amazing!!

These films in concert are a great way to introduce the Symphony to people who would otherwise not go to a symphonic concert An event for literally everyone of all ages to interact and see one of the great orchestras of the world. Keep them coming!! Awesome
