    Amazing

by Lily_T on 2023-02-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

When I bought the tickets, I thought that we would be just listening to the movie score, and so excited to find out we would be also watching the movie at the same time. It was an amazing experience and excited to attend more events like this

    Another phenomenal experience!!!

by HPFan on 2023-02-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was an absolutely unforgettable experience. The CPO has hit out if the park and the choir from Mount Royal was the icing on the cake !!! While immersed in the experience you have to keep telling yourself that the music is live. Better than the original movie experience I truly believe. Keep it coming CPO!!!!

    Left at Intermission

by Agnes on 2023-02-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I was so excited about this but ended up leaving at Intermission. Maybe it's just me, but it wasn't clear to me that it would be a full-length movie with orchestra playing over the movie. The chairs in the Jubilee auditorium are not meant for long performances, my back was killing me half an hour in. People also seemed to not have any culture or respect for the artists as I had people left, right and in front of me who were talking full voice all the time, pulling out snack bags and eating during the performance or just walking in and out of their seats. The orchestra and choir performace was incredible though, that's why I was so heartbroken to leave, but the night was ruined and I had to get out of there. None of the artists' fault though. Just poor organization and poor behaviour from the audience.

    Amazing experience

by SPart on 2023-02-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The concert hall was full, the atmosphere just breathtaking. The orchestra underlined the whole movie in such a beautiful way - it was the best movie-experience I've ever had.

    Amazing... as always

by CassandraK on 2023-02-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I love events like this. Having the live orchestra makes the movie watching experience so much better. I have attended two events like this now and will keep coming back for more.

    Wonderful

by Amanda on 2023-02-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

A great performance by the Calgary Philharmonic once again. We were treated to a choir being included to highlight the singing components of the music in this film. We have already bought tickets for the next one!

Another wonderful production from the CPO

by Prof. McGonagall on 2023-02-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Notwithstanding the cold wintery weather outside, we were treated to a spectacular performance of HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban by the Calgary Philharmonic inside. I find that these live soundtrack performances give me a whole new perspective on a movie that I've seen many many times. I hear things in the music that I've never heard before and I gain a new appreciation for the brilliance of both John Williams and the CPO! Thank you again, CPO - I can't wait for The Goblet of Fire performance!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban concert series

by Kim J on 2023-02-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Absolutely amazing!! The musicians were exceptional and many times I forgot they were live as they were so in time with the movie. The conductor was humorous and engaging. We lived it so much that I've already purchased tickets for Edmonton to see the first movie as well as our purchased tickets for Goblet of Fire fire next February. I will be telling all my friends who love the movies and live orchestra music to get tickets for the next shows!!

    Great!!

by Sai on 2023-02-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was a great show and different! The orchestra team was amazing. Very synced and beautiful. One thing I would recommend is find a location that has more parking space! It was -38, the parking lot was small and cars were parked all over the lot randomly- some cars took 3 parking spaces because they couldn’t see the lines or were just inconsiderate and in a rush! We had to park on the other side and walk in that freaking cold! It took us sometime to cool down, relax and enjoy the show. All in all the show was amazing!

    It was ok

by Kris on 2023-02-26Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This is likely my mistake but I didn’t realize that the performance was watching the actual movie with the orchestra underneath. I thought it was going to be like other movie score performances I’ve seen on YouTube with the soundtrack songs playing with clips of the movie on the screen. I found having the movie playing above the orchestra took away from watching a live orchestra and choir perform as your eyes were naturally drawn to the images flashing on the screen. I came to watch and listen to an orchestra, not watch a movie. So that’s where my disappointment lies. I absolutely love Harry Potter, but If I’m to watch the movies I’d rather do so in the comfort of my home on a comfy couch with way cheaper snacks and drinks then sitting in a crowded facility on an uncomfortable seat given to the wheelchair companion It was also disappointing upon arrival to discover that the pathways weren’t cleared to easily get my mother who’s in a wheelchair through. We then had to rush in -30 weather to try and shovel the blocked walkway. Poor preparation on the jubilees part
