Hasan Minhaj is a two-time Peabody Award-Winning comedian best known for his breakout Netflix special HOMECOMING KING and his critically acclaimed, political satire show PATRIOT ACT WITH HASAN MINHAJ for Netflix which won a Peabody, an Emmy, and a Television Academy Honor. His second one-hour comedy special THE KING'S JESTER premiered on Netflix in 2022. In October 2024, Hasan released his third comedy special on Netflix, titled OFF WITH HIS HEAD. In the debut episode, Hasan spoke with Senator Elizabeth Warren, and he's also welcomed John M. Chu, JJ Redick, Bernie Sanders, and Stacey Abrams, among many others.

He will next star in Disney's TRON: ARES that will be released theatrically in October 2025. Hasan is the co-founder and chief executive officer of 186K Films, which is currently in development on their first feature film. • Intense and hilarious

by mj on 2024-05-21Coca-Cola Coliseum - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was the most unhinged and slapstick set I've seen him do, but it was so, so funny too. I like that he tried something new and it worked really well. I didn't expect the Coca-Cola Colisium theatre to be this conducive to a performance, but he made it feel so natural as if we were in a normal theatre. I also love that Hasan throws in jokes that are for just the Desis in the audience without trying to explain it to anyone else. It elevates the experience so much for us to have those extra jokes without losing the momentum with a redundant explanation. He's so funny that everyone else can lose out on those jokes and still have a great time. He's the only comic I don't mind locking my phone up for because I know it's going to be a really good time.

  • Killed it as always

by mj on 2024-05-21Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Hasan's style keeps evolving and I'm enjoying his journey. I love that he actually understands what it means to be respectful and socially conscious without parroting the mainstream rhetoric in the name of social justice discourse. He still challenges his audiences and himself, and I think it helps that he has us keep our phones locked because it allowed a vulnerability and honesty from him that I don't see from most comedians at his level of success. I absolutely LOVED his opener, Malek Elassel -- I had found his comedy online and couldn't believe I was getting to see him live (and so unexpectedly)! Nour Hadidi was great too. Looking forward to seeing them all again soon!

  • Great time

by Rav on 2024-03-19Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Great stand up, I don't go to them typically. Hasan was hilarious, my only drawback was that there a lot of American politic jokes that kinda got boring. Also he ended up getting cut off because the show started late and ran over time and they had a second show after. Opening act was great.

  • Phenomenal

Knee slapping, stomach hugging type of laughter. Had the best time!

  • Good energy

by Dee on 2024-03-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Good energy as always. Wish he had engaged with the audience. He was testing out his jokes for Netflix so bet he’s polishing them up. It was a fun night overall. Still a fan!

  • Funniest show yet!

by Mona on 2024-03-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the funniest shows that I have been to in a long time. Of all the shows that he has done in his career to date, I think this was the funniest and most sincere and raw show that I have seen from him. The content was fresh and new and hilarious. I can’t wait to see the special when it does come out, because it’s that funny. I’d watch it again.

  • More raunchy and race focused than expected

by Jcvancouver on 2024-03-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Love Patriot Act and had some good laughs but the 9:30 show was more raunchy and race focused than I expected.

  • Just as lovely in person as on TV.

by Twisia on 2024-03-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Another endearing and hilarious storytelling from Minhaj. It was definitely worth watching in person. The acoustics could have been better, however.

  • Amazing - when’s the next tour?

  • So many laughs

by Myda on 2024-03-16Rating: 5 out of 5

I saw a few comments saying it wasn’t relatable for Canadian's and he speaks a lot about politics- while yes he has those jokes he makes it so relatable! It was such a good show. Hassan killed it! :)

  • Hasan Minhaj was amazing!

by Clara on 2024-02-29Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Loved Hasan Minhaj's show! It was smart, hilarious and thought-provoking. I'm so glad he included Toronto in his tour. I was aware that all phones/smart watches would be locked in Yondr pouches prior to the show. But security didn't allow us to take pictures in the main foyer (of the large Hasan poster) after the show was done, which I thought was unnecessary. I was in a balcony seat and still had a good view but I did found the seats a bit small/uncomfortable. 5 stars for the show, 3 for the theatre.

  • Meh

by Sheo on 2024-02-28Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Meridian Hall-Toronto- Feb 24, 7pm. The whole act felt very lazy. The jokes were clearly written for the US audience, so it didn’t land well in Canada + many recycled jokes. Loved the two performers who opened for Hassan though.

  • My face hurts

by NN on 2024-02-28Meridian Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

From laughing so much. He spits 100% facts with humour in the best way. Appreciated that he studied Toronto politics and had two Canadian openers that were so also amazing. Way better venue this time compared to his last tour too!
