  • A showcase of musical talent

by SteveC on 2025-04-13Meridian Arts Centre: George Weston - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful performance of superior musicianship with Hiromi's talent and energy. The incredible trumpeter Adam O'Farrill with jazz drummer Gene Coye join Hiromi to play most of their newest album "Out There"which was released just a day before. Even though we missed their regular bassist Hadrien Feraud his role was impressively replaced with Toronto local Tyler Emond who was called to play just hours before this performance. They played most of the new album which was fortunate for us since we're probably the 2nd audience to hear it after the release. Some familar pieces from their previous Sonicwonderland album were also a treat. It would have nice to hear a track from the Alive album or some earlier work. Always go for some Ramen after a Hiromi concert.

    extraordinary show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hiromi & her band, Rocks!

by BassPoet on 2025-04-08Meridian Arts Centre: George Weston - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Hiromi's gig with this band rocks especially last minute filling in of Toronto's own, bassist, Tyler Emond, a phenomenal musician. Tyler played flawlessly and intricately complex Hiromi's music. Drummer Gene Coye, and trumpeter Adam O'Farrill both played their hearts out. Songs were played from two albums together: "Sonicwonderland"(2023) and "Out There"(2025). Hiromi innovation and creativity shows in using electronic keyboards and synthesizers aside from a traditional grand piano.

  • A true virtuoso

by MJ on 2022-11-21Meridian Arts Centre: George Weston - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Hiromi on a solo tour and for the first time was absolutely amazing. Her chops and finesse on the piano are unparalleled. I waited 3 years for this show but it was definitely worth the wait. Even without a band she was still on her game and thoroughly engrossing. The venue was also very good. With excellent acoustics

Hiromi creates powerful emotions. Her technical skills are clearly the result of assiduous attention to practice and technique. Her enormous ability to make riveting music seems driven by her faithfulness to melody, an astonishing talent for creating fascinating rhythmic patterns, deeply expressive and carefully applied dynamics, all founded on an innate sense of what moves us. What a great talent!

Hiromi is an outstanding Human who happens to use the piano to communicate her expressions so clearly through the live performance.

Hiromi and her two fellow performers were completely amazing. Hiromi herself never fails to impress. This is the third time I've seen her and it was better than ever. The other two performers were a fantastic addition. I would love to see them again. The venue was great and everyone was helpful and friendly. Fantastic! Loved every moment.
